What makes a Four Seasons resort? It’s a hotel chain known worldwide for its hospitality experiences. How does Four Seasons ensure that guests have a stay through their impeccable service and attention, to detail? Whether it’s a location or a bustling city centre how do their resorts cater to the diverse preferences of travellers? What kind of amenities and facilities can you expect from Four Seasons, including top-notch restaurants, relaxing spas and state-of-the-art fitness centres? When you stay at one of their resorts how do they showcase the furnished rooms and suites? Allow me to take you on my journey to the island of Koh Samui in Thailand.

I’m currently exploring the Four Seasons Resort situated in Koh Samui. For me, the first impression begins at the reception area where guests receive a welcome. The journey from the entrance to the reception is truly remarkable; it’s hard to put into words just how beautiful and serene it is. With 60 villas and 11 residences nestled amidst hills offering breathtaking views of the sea this resort is truly awe-inspiring. To get around such a property with inclines they provide buggies for transportation – it’s like taking an exhilarating ride, on a luxury roller coaster.

Thailand is renowned worldwide for its biodiversity making it a beloved destination, for nature enthusiasts seeking a captivating experience of wellness.

Beach, Pool and CoCoRum

Four Seasons Koh Samui has its own private secluded beach. Located on this beach is a 40-metre infinity pool and the CoCoRum pool bar. You will find an abundance of lounges where you can relax savour delicious food and drinks and take a dip in the expansive infinity pool overlooking the shoreline. The beach offers plenty of activities from kayaking, paddleboarding, e-foil surfing, and football, to playing frisbee, etc.

CoCoRum also offers Asia’s first and only Rum Vault where you can sample rums from all over the world. The nearby Pla Pla restaurant also located on the beach was closed for renovations during our stay.

40 metre infinity pool

Serenity Pool Villa

Set amidst gardens the Serenity Pool Villa provides an idyllic retreat with its tranquil 15 square meter infinity pool. As you meander along the pathway leading to the villa you’ll be greeted by breathtaking vistas that set the stage for a stay at this family abode spanning 103 square meters (approximately 1,108 square feet). Perched on a hillside away from the beach it offers views of the Gulf of Thailand.

The wooden deck invites relaxation with loungers for your comfort. What particularly impressed me was having a refrigerator conveniently placed on the deck along, with coffee amenities. This thoughtful addition meant I didn’t have to enter and exit this villa inspired by island living.

It’s uncommon for hotels to provide dedicated curtains that effectively shield against sunlight strong winds or even rain showers—a feature that truly enhances guests’ comfort and privacy. However, these curtains would give guests the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while still ensuring a relaxing stay.

Embroidery Personalise Bed Linen

Adding an embroidered touch to your bed linen is a way to personalize it. During my stay, at Four Seasons Koh Samui I had my initials and a special motif embroidered on the pillows. Soon as I entered I noticed that the font used was welcoming and easy to read in both English and Thai languages.

The uniqueness of the bed linen truly made it stand out creating a sense of exclusivity. This attention to detail extended to the his and hers bathroom, where towels also featured my initials. The best part was that I could take them home, for use. Behind the bed, there was a window that allowed me to gaze into the gardens while comfortably sitting on the bed.

Window Views Of Gardens through Villa

One of the aspects of staying in a villa is being able to enjoy breathtaking views of lush gardens through its windows. As I looked out from my space I was greeted by an orchestra of colors and abundant greenery. These windows serve as gateways into a world of beauty allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature.

From the beauty of blooming flowers to the sway of majestic trees in the gentle breeze every view is like a masterpiece waiting to be admired. The vibrant colors and diverse textures create a sense of awe and inner peace providing the backdrop for relaxation and deep contemplation. Whether I choose to bask in the embrace of sunlight or simply gaze at the changing scenery the window views from the villa gardens offer an enchanting experience that truly captivates me. This is what I anticipate when staying in Thailand.

Dedicated Working Desk with Garden Views

The Dedicated Working Desk with Garden Views presents a solution for those who seek a productive workspace. Situated amidst surroundings this exceptional desk provides a tranquil and inspiring environment that fosters focus and productivity in my work. With its design, I can comfortably spend hours without any discomfort or distractions hindering my progress. The desk also offers storage space to keep all my essentials organized and conveniently within reach. Its robust construction ensures durability while its stylish and contemporary design adds a touch, to your workspace. The desk also served as the welcome area with coconuts, a fruit platter and some prepared snacks waiting for me.

Bathroom Stonewear

When it comes to designing bathrooms adding stoneware can bring a sophisticated touch to spaces, for both men and women. Stoneware is a choice for bathroom fixtures and accessories due to its beauty and durability. At the Four Seasons, I had the pleasure of experiencing an area with intricate mosaic tiles that offered countless possibilities for incorporating stoneware into the bathroom. The bathroom felt exceptionally clean with a design that exuded a vibe and stylish elegance thanks to the stoneware elements. What’s more, stoneware is easy to clean and maintain making it a practical choice for hotel bathrooms.

Beige Oversized Stoneware Bathtub

Speaking of luxury in bathrooms the oversized beige stoneware bathtub is truly something. It perfectly complements any bathroom setting— one like at the Four Seasons overlooking a pool and offering a sea view.

This bathtub was meticulously crafted from high-quality stoneware making it visually stunning while durable. Its spacious design provides room for a soak allowing you to fully unwind after a long day. The beige colour adds warmth and sophistication, to the bathroom decor creating an inviting atmosphere that harmonizes beautifully. As I indulged in Thailand’s wellness retreats again I couldn’t appreciate how smooth the surface of this stoneware tub felt.

Toilet And Rain Shower Separate with Garden Views

When it comes to hotel stays there’s nothing, like having a separate toilet and rain shower. It’s even better when you can enjoy the views of the garden landscape while indulging in a warm cascade of water. This unique feature provides convenience. Enhances the bathing experience allowing me to fully relax without any interruptions. Just imagine entering a well-designed bathroom that caters to all your personal hygiene needs. The highlight for me was being able to open the glass door in the rain shower area and soak up the view of the garden—it was truly unforgettable. I also loved how the wooden floors extended throughout the villa including the rain shower section.

Mood And Lighting

For a luxury getaway look no further than a stay at Four Seasons Villa. They pay attention to every detail in order to create the atmosphere for their guests. Soon as I stepped into my villa I was greeted with a warm and inviting ambience thanks to carefully curated mood lighting. Personally, I prefer an intimate setting, to something vibrant and energetic—and Four Seasons Villa definitely delivered on that front.

With the advanced lighting control systems available I could easily adjust the brightness and colour temperature to match my mood and preferences. I really liked using the ceiling fan as it provided a cooling effect allowing me to save energy by turning off the air conditioner. Moreover, the villa had curtains that created darkness for sleeping, although I must admit that the captivating nighttime garden views tempted me to leave them open.

Breakfast Four Seasons  – View and Food

I’m so glad I gave myself plenty of time to indulge in a breakfast experience, at Four Seasons. It was truly amazing to savour both the view and the delicious food. My day started with an exquisite buffet spread featuring a range of baked pastries, flavorful coffee and various healthy options. The selection of fruit juices seemed endless and refreshing. Course I made sure to try some Thai dishes too.

From fluffy toast drizzled with different syrups to perfectly cooked eggs, everything was meticulously prepared by talented chefs who aimed to satisfy my every craving. As I sat back and relaxed I enjoyed taking in the view of the surrounding landscape – whether it was the ocean or lush greenery. It was a tranquil ambience that allowed me to savour each thoughtfully crafted breakfast dish at my leisurely pace.

Fisherman’s Night

Fisherman’s Night is a BBQ and buffet on the beach accompanied by music and a lively fire show. The combination of freshly caught seafood from the Andaman Sea and the skilled expertise of chefs ensures an unforgettable dining experience. Fish, lobster and various meats grilled to perfection on the BBQ. Besides that, there is also an extensive Thai cuisine on offer at the various food stalls, with the dessert selection particularly impressive. With an endless buffet spread to choose from and staff making sure every moment is enjoyable, dining on the beachfront becomes a culinary experience.

Thai Fire Show on Beach

Witnessing a fire show on the beach is truly mesmerizing for people of all ages. While enjoying your meal, vibrant bursts of colour against the backdrop of the ocean create a spectacle that captivates everyone’s attention. If you’re seeking an awe-inspiring adventure make sure not to miss out on experiencing a fire show in Thailand.

The talented performers showcase their skills by twirling and spinning fire poi, breathing fire and even juggling flaming torches. All the while they gracefully dance to music. The captivating sight of the flames illuminating the night sky creates an atmosphere. The Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre is a prestigious hotel located in the Pathum Wan District of Bangkok, Thailand. This impressive hotel is part of the renowned Centara Hotels and Resorts, a brand under the Central Group. With 55 floors, the hotel offers a holistic lifestyle complex on the 26th floor, complete with breathtaking city views and resort-style amenities.

Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the hotel staff and escorted to the 54th floor, where I had exclusive access to the club lounge. This allowed me to enjoy private amenities and avoid the hustle and bustle of other guests on the 26th floor. While waiting for my room, I was graciously provided access to the Club Superior, which was a delightful surprise. The staff’s attentiveness and exceptional service continued throughout my entire stay.

Club Superior

Located on the 54th floor, the club lounge offers a luxurious experience of wining and dining with breathtaking views of Bangkok’s skyline. Throughout the day, guests can enjoy a wide selection of excellent food, ensuring a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. The menu boasts a variety of fusion cuisines, blending flavours from the West and the East. The oversized pastries and exceptionally large muffins are particularly noteworthy. Overall, the food served in the club lounge consistently meets a very high standard of quality and freshness.

The Star Bucks coffee machine provided a wide selection of coffee options available at any time of the day. In addition to that, fresh food like fresh fruit, olive bread, and fresh hummus were served throughout the day. After 5 pm, the club also offered cocktails and wine. The combination of these delicious food and drink options, along with the breathtaking views of Bangkok, made my dining experience here truly enjoyable.

Cocoa XO

Centara Grand Central World, located on the 57th floor, offers a unique experience with its homemade cocktails and chocolates. This is the perfect spot for guests to relax and socialize with their families or other hotel guests after a long day of shopping in Central Bangkok. Indulge in the delicious homemade chocolates, which are also served by the club superior.

Deluxe King Room

This thoughtfully designed Deluxe room is beautifully decorated in a soothing cream colour scheme with pops of regal purple. The expansive floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning views of Bangkok’s skyline, creating the perfect backdrop for starting the day from the comfort of a king-sized bed. With an abundance of plush pillows and cosy bed linens, a restful night’s sleep is guaranteed. Additionally, the room provides ample storage space, allowing guests to conveniently store their extra luggage, including any shopping purchases made in Bangkok. This feature ensures a comfortable stay, especially for digital nomads who rely on hotels for their workspace.

The dedicated working desk in the suite was perfect for staying productive on business tasks. With its spacious table and comfortable chair, it provided an ideal setting for writing and working. Additionally, the suite offered a stunning view of the vibrant city of Bangkok at night, which was both inspiring and energizing. Being centrally located allowed me to witness the bustling nightlife of Bangkok, adding to the overall appeal of the suite. Unlike many hotel rooms, this suite provided ample seating options, including a cosy lounge area. This allowed me to relax and enjoy a glass of sparkling wine with family and friends in a comfortable setting.

Bathroom

The bathroom in the hotel room was generously sized and had a soothing atmosphere. It provided a perfect setting for me and my daughter to enjoy a luxurious bath, complete with all the necessary amenities. The oversized, plush towels added to the overall sense of relaxation. Additionally, the spacious and well-equipped shower was a welcome treat after a long, hot walk to nearby shopping destinations like Siam Paragon and Siam Center, which were conveniently just ten minutes away. This allowed us to continue our indulgence in luxury shopping and explore the latest trends in South East Asia while staying in Bangkok.

Swimming Pool And Gym

SPA Cenvaree offers stunning rooftop views from its location on the 25th floor. Guests can enjoy the convenience of a well-maintained fitness centre and tennis courts that are accessible at any time. A highlight of the facility is the presence of two spacious outdoor jacuzzis, providing a picturesque cityscape of Bangkok. It is highly recommended to visit SPA Cenvaree during both day and night and for those with extra time, indulging in a massage is a wonderful treat.

The hotel features a spacious outdoor pool that offers breathtaking views of Bangkok. It serves as an ideal spot to relax and cool down in the hot city. The pool is accompanied by comfortable sundecks, providing guests with a satisfying urban experience while they soak up the surroundings and enjoy their stay at the hotel.

Breakfast

My breakfast was served in the Club Superior and it was a combination of buffet and a la carte. There was Thai cuisine, Asian and Western food available along side various fresh juices and coffees and teas. I will let the photos below do the talking.

Conclusion

Centara Grand Central World is a top-notch five-star hotel that provides exceptional customer service. Its convenient location within a shopping centre allows for late-night shopping without having to step outside. The shopping centre offers a variety of dining options, including one of my favourite Taiwanese chains, Din Tai Fung, known for its delicious fresh dumplings. Visitors can also explore international shops like ZARA, Massimo Dutti, and the popular Asian favourite, Gentle Woman.

The stunning views of Bangkok from Centara Grand Central World are simply breathtaking, and the hotel ensures a luxurious and hospitable experience. Guests can indulge in the delectable food at the Club Supioer Lounge, which is prepared with great care and attention to detail. This hotel is suitable for both business and family trips, making it a versatile choice. We sincerely appreciate the wonderful stay you had here in Bangkok.

Our two-week stay in Bangkok was approaching the end and our family would travel in different directions. I was going to the beautiful island of Koh Samui whereas my wife and children were off on a long trip to Melbourne Australia. We were flying on the same day but our flights could not be further apart. My flight was at 6:30 AM and my wife’s flight was at midnight. We knew about airport staffing issues and the long waiting lines to clear customs. Hence, we decided to stay at Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport to take at least the stress out of Bangkok traffic and to spend the last few precious hours together.

The huge atrium of the Novotel

The Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport started life at the same time as Bangkok’s new international airport was opened in September 2005. It is the closest and most luxurious airport within the vicinity of the airport, and it is literally a 3-minute courtesy bus ride from the hotel to the airport or a 5-minute walk via the air-conditioned underground walkway. It is huge with 612 guest rooms and suites and I was told it is the largest airport hotel of all the Accor family of hotels.

Reception & Lobby Area

The first thing you noticed when entering the hotel is how huge the lobby area is, it feels like an airport itself. There is a five-story atrium flanked on both sides by hotel rooms. Within the huge atrium, there are plenty of areas to sit and chill out, or you can enjoy a coffee and pastry from Le Gourmet which is like a boutique patisserie. I can recommend the mango cakes here.

What I liked was the section that showed the arrival and departure times of the flights and there was a dedicated section where you could weigh your luggage. It is these little things that take out the stress of travel. As our luggage was split as we went in different directions I did not know if I was within the allowance limit of my airline. Luckily I checked and I was way over the limit and I ordered some additional allowance online.

The Atrium connects the restaurant section, the business lounge, the Touchdown Sports Bar, and a shopping arcade for some last-minute shopping. The reception desk sits in the middle of the Atrium, and as a proper airport hotel, it offers 24-hour check-in and check-out. As we booked the business lounge our check-in was done at the lounge itself.

The business lounge offers a quiet place to work with some complimentary snacks and drinks available throughout the day. It is open from 07:00 to 22:00.

Superior Rooms

As a family, we opted for 2 superior rooms with interconnecting doors. What I like about the Novotel chain is that they are family-friendly with their policies and pricing, you get 50% of the additional room when you have children below the age of 16.

The way these hotel rooms are set up is around a courtyard. The hotel consists of two squares with a courtyard in the middle, and the two squares are connected by the Atrium. One courtyard houses the swimming pool area. Our room featured views over the oasis like swimming pool towards the airport. The rooms were large in size, had comfortable carpet and the always welcome elephant-style towels on the beds.

As a welcome treat, there was a very colourful cold dish from Thailand on display on the desk. It is Khao Chae Chao Wang, a non-spicy dish from Southern Thailand.

We had a double bedroom and a twin bedroom with interconnecting doors for our family. My daughters loved the welcome message on their beds, saying Hi with a bunch of flowers and an elephant made from towels. They were impressed with the internet speeds available for their tablets.

The interior room design is dark wood furniture with a red and blue colour scheme. The room comes with a dedicated desk that is overlooking the pool, a side table with a comfortable chair,  and a pod-style coffee and tea station. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows to choose from.

Bathroom

I like bathrooms where natural light is let in via a window to the bedroom, and for those that want privacy, they can always close the blinds.

The large size bathroom has a dedicated rain shower, a bathtub with a view and a single sink mounted on a large granite top. Gone are the little bottles of shampoo, conditioner etc and these are no replaced by larger refillable bottles, I trend that I fully support.

Pool Area

I have to give 5 stars to the pool area of the Novotel, this feels like an oasis to relax in, with plenty of greenery and most importantly serenity. It is amazing how quiet it is when you know you are so close to one of the busiest airports in South East Asia. The rectangular pool which has a depth of 1.5m max features massage fountains in the form of fish. There are plenty of steps to sit on and just chill out in the pool. Importantly there are also plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. For those thirsty you can swim up to the pool bar, they do some excellent mango juices here.

Gym

I did not have the time to work out but did check out the gym. This is a full-scale gym with plenty of free weights and exercise machines. It is open 24 hours although the hours that there will be a trainer or staff to help you is only from 07:00 to 22:00.

Buffet Dinner at The Square

The Novotel has various dinner options so you do not have to leave this hotel. You can choose to eat Thai food at Sala Thai, enjoy Chinese food at the Golden Village, feast on Japanese food at Kinsen, or enjoy Western international food at The Square.

The Square restaurant offers a buffet dinner as well as an a la carte menu. The buffet dinner has plenty of options to choose from Sushi, shellfish, seafood, plenty of meats, vegetables, a salad bar, cold cuts and cheeses, bread, desserts and cakes. All food was presented well and good in taste.

Breakfast at The Square

This hotel understands travellers and breakfast is already served from 03:00 AM in the morning. It is an extensive buffet of fresh foods, Western and Asian, complemented with fresh juices and coffees. I was ready to start my early flight to Ko Samui.

Vous Spa

My wife had a massage scheduled the next day, I had already left for Ko Samui. These are her words with regard to the Vous Spa.

Many of us suffer jetlag unnecessary when landing from a long-haul flight. I took a pre-departure massage, but for those arriving and needing to get over jetlag, I would definitely recommend the Signature Jetlag Massage.

Vous Spa offers an array of choices when it comes to wellness. The competent staff guided me to what they deemed appropriate for my stiff and aching body after all the trips I did in Bangkok.<

I was greeted by endless essential oil smells, combined with a delicious Bael tea. I was then taken into a private room welcomed by candlelight ambience. The coconut milk spa bath with flowers was the perfect welcome to wellness and relax my mind.  After 30 minutes of soaking my massage began with bespoke intense pressure to cure my aching muscles and back.

The therapist was excellent and very attentive to my needs.

Day Pass

Did you know that you don’t have to stay at the Novotel to get all the benefits of the pool, spa and gym? There is a day pass that lets you use these facilities which is great when you have some hours to kill between flights. Chill by the pool or do some additional workouts before your next flight, you can do this as an alternative to an airport lounge. Conclusion

If you want a comfortable stay that takes the stress out of travel, be it a late-night arrival, early-morning departure or a long transit, the Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel is the place to stay. It is the closest and most luxurious stay around the airport. The pool, spa, gym, food choices at the restaurants, plus the attentive staff, will make this stay a memorable one. The reception is largely full of gold interior design and caters to big tour groups and families. There are many seating areas whilst waiting to check in. Wyndham Da Nang Golden Bay is very popular with tour guests visiting from Korea. Therefore Korean culture and hospitality are geared to cater to this fabulous culture. From the onset gold lovers will be blown away by this very unique decor here at Wyndham Danang Golden Bay Vietnam. I decided to check out the public toilets and for me, this was an indication of what was to come, everything gold.

Infinity Gold 24crt Swimming Pool

What sets Wyndham Danang Golden Bay hotel apart from any other hotel I have visited over the years is the massive gold-tiled swimming pool. I have never seen anything like it. The glaring gold tiles are a magical delight to experience, for me that is what hotels should offer, a rare experience like no other. For those loving to keep fit and require an almost endless lap pool, this is it. The view of Da Nang and the obvious bridge is ever-changing as the sunbeams on both the sparkling river and the mountains. It’s lovely to see when swimming is integrated with the view of the river, the edge of the pool looks never-ending.

F29 Restaurant Golden Pool Bar

Don’t forget to end your day with a swanky dip at Golden Pool Bar F 29. Here you’ll find an itinerary of scrumptious delicacies conveniently situated near the 29th-floor swimming pool. Enjoy the enthralling atmosphere as you unwind with one of its delectable cocktails then let your heart soar while taking in the sights from above all while soaking up some fresh air! The snack bites are huge and I loved munching away on the Korean fried chicken whilst sipping a local beer. It’s a lovely place to propose to your loved one. I noticed a huge balloon message with, will you marry me? I do hope he or she said yes.

The Horizon Restaurant, situated on the brow of a hill overlooking Da Nang Bay and its wispy misty peaks, is renowned for its International buffet breakfasts and lunches and dinners with a set menu providing quality cuisine. It was nice to wake up and gaze out over this picturesque bay while indulging in delectable dishes prepared by the skilled chefs to savour harmony! There are endless amounts of food to choose from including an array of Korean delights.

We had a very early flight so heading to breakfast at 6 am there already was an unexpected crowd of guests, Korean people love to eat early. Breakfast starts at 6 am till 10 am, it gets very busy but the attentive staff was excellent and serving us all was effortless.

Jjimjilbang Korean Wellness And Spa

What on earth is a Jjimjilbang at the Golden Luxury Spa? I have never experienced a Korean spa and wellness before and neither has my family. We decided to spend a few hours to find out what it entailed. It has to be one of my favourite spas and wellness retreats by far. I am hooked on this concept and so are my teenage girls. First of all, there are two dedicated changing rooms one for women and one for men and it has a jacuzzi for each gender. My teenage girls were very comfortable with this and so was I.

No need to bring anything along but yourself, everything is explained and supplied for you. Generally in Korea, people would go around naked but at Wyndham Danang Golden Bay this is not allowed.

Jjimjilbang entails several dedicated rooms that offer both hot and cold treatments. They vary from an Igloo ice room at temperatures of minus 7 to the other extreme in the volcanic rock room where we were lying on an endless amount of tiny volcanic balls at a whopping temperature of 57 degrees. Be mindful when entering here that you step on the dedicated paths or you may fall over in what we all did. This was so much fun and the healing of my aching muscles was instantly relieved after an hour or so of experiencing Jjimijilbang. For those seeking some skincare and male grooming treatments the infrared cave ticks all the boxes. My teenage daughter said it really cleared up her acne, wow.

Volcanic Rock Room

There is the golden sauna room in which you lie down and feel the soaring heat of 47 degrees on your back. All these treatment rooms are to be lied down on with a towel and specific outfit given to you at reception. There is a general area where you can chat with family and friends but this is wellness so staying quiet at all times is one of the reasons you would do it. Give yourself plenty of time to experience this excellent facility it’s one of a kind for us who live in the west.

Corner Suite Bay View

This ideal suite room with two bedrooms is what made our family’s vacation a relaxing one. At the moment my hotels are my home and I need everything a family of four requires. The room accommodated my family of four comfortably. Thus providing ample space in the living/dining area, overlooking the magical bay. This is well-needed when I get up early and want to work. The kitchenette was very handy for when I ordered room service as well as treats for my children to snack on. It meant I could serve food and tuck it away without making the suite look untidy.

An added bonus was the laundry facilities as a family laundry builds up very quickly. If you are seeking to stay long-term in Da Nang this 72m2 all-inclusive space will be ideal for business or leisure travellers alike! I liked the Wonder Park view too which is a mini European landmark for visitors to go and see, great fun for the kids.

Bathroom Bay View

There were two bathrooms which were very convenient for two teenage girls. I liked how the first bathroom was tucked away right at the entrance of the corridor. It meant I could go to the bathroom without disturbing anyone.

When I walked into the bathroom I revelled in the sumptuously spacious bath, with a panoramic view of the bay. Making for an ideal place to unwind after experiencing this unique establishment. It was wonderful to even have a shower in.

Conclusion

After reviewing hundreds of hotels over the years, what I am now seeking is a hotel that offers family fun with unique experiences that other hotels don’t offer. The two landmarks of Wyndham Da Nang Golden Bay is the 24crt tiled infinity rooftop swimming pool it is truly a fun experience for all the family. My equal favourite is the excellent Jjimijilbang spa and wellness in which the children and the family had an unforgettable experience, thank you for a great stay.

At Da Nang Marriott Resort, guests will find all of the luxuries typically found in five-star accommodations including five large pools around the resort. Having so many pool options is very rare to find here in Da Nang. The esteemed staff team offers an effervescent welcome to guests in the serene lobby, the pampering concierge service made sure I was served lovely iced ginger tea with ice-cold cooling towels.

I like seeing and being greeted by staff wearing the national traditional dress in Vietnam called ao. I found the staff went that extra mile to assist where ever possible, throughout my stay.

I was greeted by this unique location within an ecological reserve, this exquisite setting is truly unlike any other accommodation I have stayed at!

Five Swimming Pools

The focal part of the Da Nang Marriott Beach & Spa resort is the five swimming pools. That acter for all guests young and old. no matter where I sat whether it was experiencing the delights of breakfast at Goji Kitchen. Eating fine food at Madame Son. Or sipping a fresh coconut at the Writer’s Bar. There was always an inviting view for me to swim in these pools.

There was a lap pool dedicated to those wanting to get fit like my husband and featured well over 40 meters in length. There was a huge central lounge pool with an infinity edge located almost at the beach, here you can soak up the day and hear the sound of the ocean. A small children’s pool for kids to be safe and have endless fun. I noticed a dedicated set of life jackets and lifeguards for everyone’s safety. The other two swimming pools catered for adults looking to escape and soak up the luxurious tropical atmosphere.

If the swimming pool was not enough I could maintain my fitness regime in the resort gym. I liked that there was dedicated staff to help me with any unfamiliar fitness equipment. There were also tennis courts available which are surrounded by luxurious tropical trees.

Plenty of hotels offer Spa services with most of them pretty dated and run down. But at the Da Nang Marriott Beach Resort, the Quan Spa was a wonderful place to indulge in a massage. The decor and spotless spa centre were beautiful to experience. I liked the salt room which is where I waited for a deep tissue massage.

The hotel boasts an elaborate massage and beauty centre, as well as a plunge pool on its first level. In anticipation of my treatment, I was delighted to discover a unique salt room something quite rare in Da Nang!

Gardens

Make time to stroll around the gardens. I felt at ease exploring the serene gardens, both day and night. It’s not just the tranquil atmosphere, but also the laid-back vibe that visitors can savour as they stroll through this snug haven!

Madam Son Restaurant

Restaurant Madam Son is proud to present an array of tantalizing gastronomic delights on its rear terrace with panoramic views of the gleaming swimming pools. I liked how they incorporated the famous lanterns within the decor as an acknowledgement of Hoi An Ancient Town, famous for lanterns. The food on offer was a fusion of Western food meets Eastern cuisines.

We indulged in an entree of wonderful tartare beef and a spicey pumpkin soup which was delicious.

Entree and Main Dishes

The irresistible blend of Australian beef and pasta is an unusual combination but my teenage daughter was a big fan of it. I opted for a crab dish with pasta which was sweet and very refreshing, once again my daughter loved the tangy taste of the pasta. The spicey pumpkin soup was wonderful as an entree. One can never go wrong with steak tartare very refreshing indeed for tropical living.

Desserts

Below is a dessert dish an edible part of the lotus plant is the root, seeds, and young flower stalks. The lotus seeds can be eaten raw as they are sweet. When the seeds become brown, they can be made into a paste or ground into flour for baking. This is a must-try as it is very different from what I have tasted in Asia. The lotus seed sweet soup with longan (Che hat sen long nhan) is a delicious Vietnamese summer dessert. This pleasant aroma and sweetness, create a relaxing effect, perfect for hot summer nights. This was combined with beautifully presented meringue and fresh strawberries a nice balance.

One can never go wrong when having teenage girls who adore everything with a tang flavour and a very, fluffy crepe.

Breakfast

While eating breakfast we opted to sit outside to hear the sound of the lapping waves and to look out at the reflection of the sun on the water. For many people, a hearty breakfast is a perfect prelude to a productive day. Whether you opt for pancakes or oatmeal, this meal is an essential component of starting off each morning. This is a great time to start the day with an opportunity for family bonding!

My teenage daughters loved the option of sweets and ice- cream for breakfast. But for me, breakfast without local fresh juices is like a day without sunshine. I love mango juice and there was plenty of it. There were plenty of local Vietnamese dishes to choose from too. If it’s not pho soup, it’s not breakfast.

Delux Ocean View Room

I stayed with my family of four in the Deluxe Ocean View room with 2 twins view with a balcony overlooking the luxurious gardens. The Delux Ocean guest room 1 king had a direct view overlooking the swimming pools and the sound of the roaring ocean, which was very therapeutic. I was greeted by some wonderful French treats as a welcome to my stay. This attention to detail makes a five-star hotel all that more worth coming to.

The opulent abode boasts captivating features such as expansive panes of glass, arched entrances, and an abundance of natural materials comprising stone and timber. The 54sqm/581sqft room had a living and sitting room with an outdoor space to soak up and listen to the ocean.  The wooden panelled doors at the entrance when walking to the room were lovely, this is a very loveable room due to its wooden French and Indonesian decor. I love the feel of traditional wood flooring when taking steps with my bare feet.

I am always a fan of a dedicated working desk and fresh sunflowers for me to work next to.

Bathroom

Nothing is more endearing than soaking in a huge tub overlooking nature. The marble bathroom with a separate bathtub and shower was lovely to use. Vietnam has its own local marble.

Conclusion

The Da Nang Marriott Beach Resort & Spa tranquil atmosphere immediately invited us as a family into the welcoming reception area, bathed in sunlight and sprinkled with rows upon rows of windows affording glimpses of its verdant grounds adorned with abundant greenery.

The serenely harmonious gardens meld seamlessly with the contemporary independent suites nestled amongst them. As a guest, the gardens intensify my sense of timeless tranquillity.  Take the time to walk on the grass, it is so soft and soothing to one’s feet. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

If you are staying or holidaying in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and you are looking for a beach destination that is both great and not too far away, you will be looking at Ho Tram Beach. For tourists, this destination is often overlooked in favour of Nha Trang, Da Nang, or Phu Quoc island, all destinations that are a flight away from Ho Chi Minh city.

After spending two weeks in hot and humid Ho Chi Minh City I was keen to find out more about Ho Tram Beach and especially the Melia Ho Tram Beach Resort. I booked a two-bedroom private pool villa with its own garden, a welcome change from living in Ho Chi Minh City with its ubiquitous high-rise buildings.

This is a fairly new resort that only opened its doors in March 2019 and consists of 152 rooms and 83 individual pool villas. It has a totally private beach frontage of 1.1 kilometers giving plenty of privacy on the beach for its guests. My family and I took the free courtesy bus which leaves District 2 in Ho Chi Minh City and takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes to get to the resort. Would this be the holiday where I can chill out and my children are entertained all day?

Reception

The luxuriant peacefulness of the surroundings is matched with calming colour tones and clean, contemporary forms. From the moment I entered the resort, the view gave me an excellent ambiance awaiting me to explore. Plenty of seating areas to wait for check-in and a refreshing welcoming drink after a long journey from Ho Chi Minh City.

As I was a The Level guest I had a private check-in with complimentary snacks, alcohol, and nonalcoholic beverages, including Nespresso coffee and luxury Dilmah.  As soon as check-in was completed I was transported on a golf-style buggy to my 2-bedroom private pool garden villa. The immaculate gardens both day and night are wonderful to walk through.

The Level

My The Level 2 Bedroom Private Pool Villa came with a host of extra privileges and experiences. The Level of experience included.

• Access to The Level Lounge, located next to the reception, that offers complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. The Level lounge is open all day till 22:30
• Access to The Private Level Pool,  with complimentary snacks and cocktails daily between 15:00 and 17:00.
• Late checkout at 16:00
• Use of a meeting room for three hours.
• Nespresso capsule coffee maker and tea station
• In-room amenities like newspapers, a pillow menu (my favourite was lavender), high-speed WiFi, slippers, and a bathrobe.

The Level 2-Bedroom Private Pool Garden Villa

The short ride from reception to my villa took no longer than 2-3 minutes. I stayed in C038, which is a 2-bedroom 220 m2 private pool villa overlooking a gorgeous large pond filled with lilies. The garden comes with a private plunge pool, ideal for cooling down. The resort has a variety of 2, 3, and 4-bedroom villas with some of them directly fronting the beach.

This has to be one of the best garden views – look at that lily pond.

This tale atmosphere captured the very essence of Vietnam. This villa has a contemporary design with all the bells and whistles a family would need during their stay. At the entrance, a kitchen dining area greeted me, if I dared to cook, I had everything I needed. The kitchen was nicely tucked away from the rest of the villa. I liked how there was a toilet right near the entrance that any outside guests could use.

The round dining table was useful when I ordered a takeaway from Breeza Beach Club. Ordering was very easy and could all be done from an app that you can download. I liked how I was greeted by a delicious welcoming array of chocolates and towels to take a swim in the pool. A private pool is always wonderful to indulge in, especially very late at night.

The lounge was very comfortable and had a big TV and a large selection of channels. I preferred looking out to the tropical garden with the pool and the lily pond.

The Bedrooms With A View

All of the contemporary amenities of each villa fulfill the requirements of international guests, complete with independently controlled air conditioning, a minibar, a spacious work desk, and a hair dryer. With a distinctive an All-in-one service;  I could access all the resort’s services by pushing a single button.

I had an amazing sleeping experience, the only noises I could hear were from mother nature. This was even better when I looked outside and saw tropical plants and again that beautiful lily pond. I had an endless selection of towels, pillows, slippers, and beautiful bed linen to indulge in. The tile-inspired flooring meant dropping water on the floor after a swim was not stressful.

This room was cosy with sleek modern furnishing and plush amenities. I liked the extra two chairs which allowed me to take in the view privately from the rest of the family.

The second bedroom with two single beds had access to a gorgeous tropical private garden. Which also had a coffee, and tea area as well as another mini bar. This meant my teenage girls had their own private access to their own little oasis, they even had their own private front door. The room came with its own bathrobes and wardrobes in which to hang their clothes and keep the room nice and tidy.

Throughout the villa, there are so many lighting options you can always create a mood that suits you.

The Tropical Bathroom

On entering the ensuite bathroom, I was greeted by the oval bathtub with ceiling-to-floor views of a tropical garden. This is what I would expect from a wellness resort such as Melia Ho Tram Beach Resort. With bath salts to relax and the side windows which I could open, I could hear the wildlife and feel the nightly breeze, It was wonderful. I liked how there was a natural stone storage for all my luggage in the bathroom too as well as a hanging wardrobe.

A separate rain shower and toilet with frosted glass doors allowed much privacy if needed. The double sink and large mirror meant with natural lighting I could take in what I was wearing. The scales were a nice extra for those weight-conscious guests like my husband.

In the second room, the extra bonus was the outdoor shower with a bamboo design. Again this resort offers all the outdoor experiences I could ask for when in the tropics.

The Swimming Pools

A Beach Resort is nothing without a choice of swimming pools. At Melia Ho Tram Beach Resort, I had three options. The first one was the private plunge pool that came with my villa, ideal for cooling down or enjoying some privacy.

My private pool

Then there is the main huge pool area with plenty of cabanas, whirlpool areas, an infinity edge, and a pool bar. This is the social area that binds all the guests together. It is huge and it is beautiful. Next to this pool is Breeza Beach Club which caters to Western food lovers, satisfying my hungry family when they wanted a quick bite, a refreshing drink, or a full-course meal. From here you can also enjoy the beach which has its own lifeguard and where you can use paddle boards and kayaks, the sea permitting.

Lastly, there is The Level Private pool which can only be used by guests staying in a private villa. This rectangular pool is smaller and has more of a chilled-out atmosphere with some “Cafe del Mar” style tunes and plenty of cabanas to lounge in around the pool. Every day between 15:00 to 17:00 free cocktails are served as well as some accompanying snacks. I lounged here every day in the afternoon from 15:00 till dawn.

Breakfast With Sasa

Breakfast offered all the culinary options I could ever ask for affording all the indulgence of baked goods from the East and the West, with plant-based ingredients readily available. My palette explored a lot of Vietnamese flavours. As guests are seeking healthy options here at Melia Ho Tram Beach Resort the buffet offers a delightful journey of fresh fruits, pho soups, sushi, and endless beverage options.

The fresh drinks include coconut juice, fresh orange juices, and an array of coffees including traditional Vietnamese coffee.

Melia is a Spanish company so it was so refreshing to delve into high-end Spanish cuisine here in Vietnam. I loved the excellent quality Iberico Ham and the Manchego cheese with truffles. The setting is an excellent way to take in the morning of a pure luxury stay.

Conclusion

There are endless ways to enjoy my time at Melia Ho Tram BeachRresort. There are buggies to take you anywhere around the resort. You can also take advantage of complimentary bikes for an adventure around the resort, it is so much fun during the day or night. There are plenty of activities for kids to endure, including movie nights with fresh popcorn at the outdoor cinema. There is a place right next to the resort called The Hamptons which has plenty of restaurants and a lovely pier to stroll down. You can also order a buggy at the resort to get you there and back. This resort offers so much luxurious entertainment for couples as well as families, Thank you for a wonderful relaxing, and entertaining stay.

Situated in the heart of Saigon is a new five-star luxury hotel called Fusion Orginal Saigon Centre. The hotel is unique in that it is located right on top of Saigon’s best central shopping centre called Saigon centre which is located on Le Loi Boulevard in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Occupying the top 10 floors with 99 rooms and suites means that when you stay here you can shop till you drop. From Saigon centre and the adjoining Takashimaya Shopping Mall but also across the road where you can find Saigon square and the famous Ben Tanh market.

If you need a break you can simply enter the Fusion Orginal and reload your batteries for your next luxury shopping adventure. The staff and the reception were very welcoming throughout my stay, there was no way possible that anybody would check out of this hotel without being impressed. The hotel which first started welcoming guests back in  July 2022, features the latest in interior design trends that combine modern design with Vietnamese design and art.

Reception

For me, interior design is all about modern energy and vibe. If the colour purple and everything viola is to your taste, then you will love Fusion Original Saigon Centre. There is a nightclub ambience vibe when entering the corridor access full of different shaped mirrors. This is also progressively designed throughout the hotel and I had lots of fun doing social media images. Colours are so powerful during anyone’s hotel stay. The high energy of patterns combined with dark mood lighting allowed me to escape from the buzzing sound of bikes and the high energy within Ho Chi Minh City.

The enormous welcome table is wonderful to take in the reception and very user-friendly. This elongated table is a wonderful place to meet and greet new clients or other guests.  The endless usage of colour, patterns, and 3D shapes both on the wall and floors is the hotel’s signature creative masterpiece.

At the elevators, there is a huge birdcage, which represents wealth within the Vietnamese culture. The bigger the bird cage the wealthier one is. It is also a fun swing to use whilst waiting for the lift.

The Fusion Original Saigon Centre has integrated the aesthetic elegance of European flare design with the spiritual sense of Vietnamese culture. Using quirky framed art pieces showcasing the nón lá (leaf hat) of the Vietnamese people throughout the corridors as a reminder of being in Vietnam.

Swimming Pool And Wellness Centre

Guests staying at the Fusion Orignal have access to an exclusive infinity pool and luxury gym which is located on the sixth floor of the Saigon shopping centre.  The ever-changing skyline of Saigon makes swimming an extra adventure, it includes views towards the Bitexco Financial Tower. It also has a dedicated swimming lane for those seeking a workout.

There are comfortable lounges to soak up the sun raze and food and beverages can be purchased on the pool deck. After a swim one can head on the same floor within the shopping center to a fitness provider with all the bells and whistles to get you fit-ready. Fusion Original has teamed up with Californian Centuryon Fitness provider has the latest in fitness equipment that can be accessed during your stay. You can book yourself with a private teacher. Get a bespoke food program and use the best workout technology that money can buy. Even if you are not a gym person, do go and walk around to see what is on offer. I was told, you may bump into a local celebrity in the fitness centre.

The pool is open till 8 pm and it is worth visiting at night with amazing night views of the city. At night the Sky Deck Bitexco Financial Tower lights up. There is also a kiddie pool which is safe and relaxing, and the rain shower is endless fun too for kids.

Two-bedroom Executive Suite

I stayed with my family in the two-bedroom suite on floor 19 and it came with amazing views over Ho Chi Minh City. The day and night views are spectacular.

The suite is designed with eco-consciousness in mind. Throughout this two-bedroom dining lounge space natural materials are used to create a cosy and relaxing atmosphere. With sleek modern furnishings and plush amenities, these rooms are ideal for both business and pleasure. What I adored was the different purple doors and gold trimmings within the whole suite, including the bathrooms.

The gold round small tables throughout the suite added that extra original touch of decor class. Round tables work well in small spaces as it means you don’t bump into unfamiliar furniture resulting in bruises. Those travelling with families certainly understand this challenge. The dedicated lounge designed within the window, allowed me to relax and peek out at the traffic and action of Ho Chi Minh City itself. IA true reminder of where I was staying whilst tucked away in this oasis building which keeps all the noise from outside out thanks to its double glazing.

Upon entering the suite, I loved the dedicated kitchen sink and coffee and tea area. Keeping all the messy parts of my stay tucked away in a spacious corner. I am noticing this new trend only here in Saigon. With access to the complimentary mini bar which can be topped app using an app. There was plenty of kitchen bench at hand for extra bites needed during our stay. The modern lighting throughout the suite was lovely, cosy and had a very relaxing vibe to it.

The dedicated lounging space with very comfortable seating and lots of pillows meant whilst others were asleep I could write during the night with pleasure and comfort. There are also dedicated working desks in each of the two bedrooms.

The ceilings throughout the room are so pleasing to the eye, in fact, the panelling through this suite with two-tone wall colours is why this suite feels very high-end indeed with regards to hotel stays.

Reload Pantry

The proof is in the pudding so to speak. This is the first time I am ever experiencing a Reload Pantry. Situated on the same floor as I was residing as part of the hotel corridors, there was a dedicated kitchen area in what they call a Reload Pantry with access to freshly baked cakes, cookies and fruit as well as tea and coffee. Once again using your app, you could simply notify that the pantry needed reloading.

Bathrooms

The bathrooms follow the same design language with calming colour tones and clean, contemporary forms. This bathroom is all about indulging in luxurious toiletries with eco-friendly products. These thoughtful touches just enrich my stay. The lighting ambience teamed with the rain shower was a perfect wellness retreat to enter after a long stroll in a very hot city.

Keeping a sustainable message, these gorgeous crockery top-ups of body lotions and creams meant I could use them at my leisure without the extra paper and plastic being wasted. Fusion Original is mindful of the extra wastage hotels can create. The quality work of the bathroom teamed with a grey ambience made this bathroom very relaxing to use. It had a nice feng shui to it.

The two option shower heads meant I could have a rain shower or a smaller shower for washing thick hair. This is important during my stay with kids who have very long and thick hair. Also, my youngest daughter doesn’t like rain showers on her face. It takes out all the travel stress that presents itself when travelling as a family.

Visiting Ho Chi Minh City after five years is always an adventure. We are staying in District 1 which is the centre of Saigon and this part of the clean city offers plenty of opportunities for luxury shopping and fine dining. Here at Renaissance Riverside Hotel Saigon, the view alone offers a relaxing environment in such a busy location. The hotel is a preferred destination for those wanting to visit Saigon for leisure or business.

For hotel guests, the river view has a mystique about it. So much is happening whilst peering at this river. The club suite lounge rooms offer an unobtrusive sunrise view. At night, the river transforms into a mirror that reflects the city’s glittering lights. During the day I took pleasure in watching the passing boats and the floating plants being carried by the current.

The location is in District 1’s financial and commercial hub. For guests near attractions like Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Ben Thanh Market, Saigon Opera House, and the National History Museum makes sightseeing in the city very accessible and convenient.

Reception

First impressions count for me when entering any hotel reception area. When entering the noticeable smell of the reception area was very relaxing. This reception area with its calming colour tones and clean, contemporary forms was intriguing. The 3D design throughout was very inviting and awoke my senses. The Feng shui was very inviting and visually an unexpected modern design here in Vietnam. The bar also was lovely to sit in whilst waiting for our R Club River View suite.

R Club River View

This large R Club river view and suites granted us exclusive Club privileges. The river view was stunning and so very entertaining to watch both day and night. In front of me was the most interesting entertainment of bikes and cars going around the roundabout. Both day and night observing the way city life operated were unique to the Renaissance Riverside Hotel Saigon. This unobtrusive view meant I could soak up being reminded I was in Ho Chi Minh City.

The guestrooms are contemporary and provide a variety of bedding options to ensure a relaxing stay. We are always working so the free high-speed internet access and a dedicated working desk with a river view are just two examples of thoughtful extras that made our stay productive and comfortable. The dedicated lounge area meant we could shut the door allowing my partner to sleep, without being disturbed.

I appreciated the kitchen sink and cupboards which meant no mess was made when drinking complimentary beer, tea, or coffee. The extra Japanese toilet in this room meant I did not have to disturb sleeping guests to access the toilet. There was also a dedicated round table for either eating on or in my case I used it as a working desk overlooking the river.

None of the rooms allow smoking so when I was sitting on the comfortable lounge overlooking the river view this enriched my stay.

Bathroom

The bathroom is comfortable with plenty of fluffy large towels. There was a nice big bath with a dedicated shower. I like how they have sustainably reusable and refilled large amenities bottles, this is something I am seeing more and more in hotels and this saves a lot on throw-away plastic bottles.

Club Lounge

We were staying on the 17th floor and the club lounge was on the 18th floor. The hotel has an Atrium that goes the full height of the hotel. So whilst waiting for the elevator I enjoyed the internal views the atrium offered.

The club lounge offers great views over the river enhancing the eating and drinking experience. The food on offer was fresh, plenty, and tasty. The presentation and variety of food for a club lounge were of a very high level. From Asian selections to Western cuisine, there was plenty of food for everyone’s taste buds.

Plenty of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages were available. A nice variety of French cheeses and warm fresh bread were lovely to indulge in. The staff service was very attentive and they made sure the tables were super clean during and after my stay. Lastly, the presentations and tastes of the desserts were divine. Time to hit that gym on the top floor.

Roof Top With A View

Here at Renaissance Riverside Hotel Saigon, there is always a place with a riverside view. The hotel’s dining options cover all bases for an indulgent vacation, from a pool bar and grill that serves western food such as burgers and chips. The expertly create cocktails to aroma all day cafe means my stay was fabulous. The gym, spa, and pool are open to guests from 6 am which means plenty of time to get your body into tip-top condition.

Breakfast

Located on the ground floor once again overlooking the river is an endless amount of food to get my day started. If this is your first time visiting Vietnam then indulge in the love spice. Spices heighten my eating experience while offering a myriad of health benefits to complement my diet. Don’t get confused as spices do not mean spicy and the famous Pho soup here in Vietnam is so tasty without being spicy.

I would highly recommend starting off with Vietnamese soups and indulging in a world of pure taste buds overload. There were plenty of pastries, omelettes, cereals, fresh bacon, and sausages to eat my morning away. The buffet presentation and freshness were to a very high standard. I tried Vietnamese coffee, for those that were not aware, Vietnam has there very own coffee plantations in the area around Đà Lạt. I have been there and it is worth a visit.

Conclusion

With so many exciting things to do in and around Ho Chi Minh City. My hotel stay really adds to that extra special travel experience. Here at Renaissance Riverside Hotel Saigon the staff, food, and comfort of staying in a very centrally located area, meant my overall stay in Vietnam was a memorable one. Nothing could be better than a road trip to a beautiful Bath in Somerset. Picture this, honey-coloured Georgian Terrace right in the city centre of Bath in Somerset. Hotel Indigo Bath opened its doors in September 2020 with 166 guest rooms designed around five beautiful themes inspired by Bath itself. As hotel stay trends go this is the hotel to explore new ways of hosting guests for 2022.

Parking

There is no private parking for this hotel. The hotel does offer valet parking for £40 a night. The pay and display car park opposite the hotel entrance is £17 for 24 hours in 2023.  Make sure you use the app to pay for your parking before you leave the car. As the parking attendant is lurking around all the time. You have to walk a good 300m with your luggage to reception. So make sure you have all your wardrobes tucked away in nice luxury luggage.

Don’t attempt double parking on South Parade road which is where Hotel Indigo Bath is, you may end up with a parking ticket.

Reception

The reception area is stunning and the attention to detail is worth exploring once you have settled into the hotel. Make time to sit around all the nooks in this hotel.

The floor-to-ceiling windows in this reception area maximize its spectacular interior design.

The Drawing Room

When it’s time to unwind, enjoy a quiet drink in one of the public areas. This room is like walking into a gallery full of artists showcasing their work. Art is still very much the lifeblood of Indigo hotels. The interior design is a mix of the very interesting story’s told within the hotel. The velvet lounges are very cosy and a perfect area to meet and greet people.

Plenty of nooks to take Instagram shots. And I noticed all sorts of games to be able to play with your family, friends, or loved ones.

This impressive area leads to a wonderful call-to-action lift access. Below is the view from the lift,  and what a view of central Bath.

I loved the carpet within the lift, which is very quirky, it shows that this hotel is fun and playful to explore.

Superior Room

After a day of driving and exploring Bath, it was nice to walk back and escape to Hotel Indigo Bath. With all the features of a standard room, it was nice to unwind in additional space and natural sunlight. Each room is elegantly decorated to bring a sense of comfort and serenity.

All rooms are equipped with Hypnos beds. And for many travellers, fresh white sheets and sumptuous bathrobes are a highlight of their hotel experience. Hotel Indigo Bath does not disappoint with its luxury Egyptian cotton linen. Choosing from a selection of high-quality cotton pillows wrapped in crisp linen is why it was super comfortable to sleep in. The interior design as I looked into detail is inspired by the area’s traditions, like history, culture, calligraphy, and music.

I had a dedicated working desk with a view over the car park. But to the left of me was a lovely church.

The interior design was colourful and I adored the plaster artwork above the bed. The long mirror is in the wrong place, due to its position I could not step back unless I stood on the bed. So I could not see fully from head to toe what I was wearing. This is very important in any hotel for a woman to be able to see what she is wearing.

There was plenty of mood lighting and a Nespresso coffee machine, wifi, a flat-screen TV, and some water in the minibar. The room came with plenty of charging stations for me to use. This is very important for those coming to work in Bath.

Bathroom

This spa-inspired bathroom offered a nice Feng Shue. A dedicated rain shower with plenty of fluffy towels. Transforming your bathroom with soft fluffy towels, and fresh citrus scent using large bottles of amenities made my stay relaxing. The decor of the tiles created a sense of place with unique experiences and encounters.

This roll-top bath is wonderful for kids and very short people. Some of the baths are smaller than others, to fit in the spaces, I had a smaller bath but they are not all like that. Make sure you check before booking if a larger bath is part of your stay. This plunge bath looked great and I liked the artwork on the floor-to-ceiling window that gave me privacy. This a great tip for transforming your bathroom window at home.

The Elder Restaurant

Part of the hotel which is independently owned is called The Elder. This is where breakfast is served and hotel guests can book a table for lunch or dinner.

The Elder presents a diverse range of locally inspired cuisines with an authentic touch.

The meals were fresh and in season. They were presented to a very high standard and the staff was very attentive.

Breakfast was fresh and it is a good start to the day with many fruit options for a healthy lifestyle.

An excellent English breakfast with plenty to get me going for the day. The cured ham was especially delicious and welcoming.

The full English breakfast was simple but tasty and good local homemade sausages ticked all the boxes regarding being in the United Kingdom.

Conclusion

Bath is a gorgeous city and worth exploring. This exclusive destination offers an array of experiences. Hotel Indigo Bath is in a great area to access the city whenever one needs to. The staff is very valuable here and works extremely hard to accommodate highly demanding guests. Whether you’re staying for business or leisure, make the most of all this chic urban retreat has to offer.

There is so much to explore in Bath and the atmosphere is lively and friendly.

Believed to be where William Shakespeare wrote ‘As You Like It, Billesley Manor Hotel is proud of its rich history, located in 11 acres of rural countryside, just three miles from Stratford-upon-Avon. The 16th-century hotel underwent a £5.6 million refurbishment in 2021, injecting new life into its 71 guest rooms, communal areas, bar, restaurant, and newly renovated spa and wedding venue. The interior design has created modern decor without compromising history.

I turned up in the Ferrari Roma, which is a lifestyle car. It certainly created a scene and matched this stunning 16th-century Manor.

Location

Just outside the medieval town of Stratford-upon-Avon, Billesley Manor Hotel is set right in the heart of Shakespearean England, near Stratford-upon-Avon. As such, there’s plenty of Shakespeare-focused history to take in.

As for the Shakespeare-related highlights, visit Shakespeare’s birthplace, the Holy Trinity Church to see the writer’s final resting place, his wife Anne Hathaway’s cottage (although opening hours are seasonal), The Royal Shakespeare Company when it reopens, and the All-Saints church, where Shakespeare allegedly married Anne Hathaway, right next to the Billesley Manor Hotel.

The History

I am always fascinated by history and the idea that a doorway I’ve just walked through is over 400 years old. From the time of the Norman Conquest, the manor at Billesley was one of a number of Midland properties belonging to the increasingly influential Trussell family circ 1327. A family linked to deposing King Edward II.

Original stone windows in the main dining room, which was originally the main lounge  (off the kitchen) take you back to the fifteenth century. I am so glad the manor’s original charm and beauty have been preserved so well.

The open fireplaces in both the reception area and the bar are what I call the best of Manor experiences.  So if you are hiking for the day this is the best way to snug up and drink a cocktail.

The Main Hall & Library

In addition to the comfortable reception area with its jewel-tone armchairs and fireplace, the main public areas include the Great Hall Lounge and Bar and The Library. The bar space is comfortable but also feels particularly glamorous with its double-height ceilings open to a galleried balcony, oak panelling, stone fireplace, and oil paintings.

Elsewhere, The Library – where Shakespeare is said to have written ‘As You Like It – is a quiet space with tables perfect for reading, catching up on work, or playing chess, all overlooking the garden. The room also has a striking art installation, featuring books cascading out of the shelves and climbing up and across the ceiling.

Junior Suite

As for the 71 bedrooms, Billesley Manor Hotel offers a number of different styles. My Junior Suite was spacious and well-equipped with modern amenities, a huge bed, and decorated with a moody
dark blue and modern white colour scheme stylishly contrasting the remaining Tudor accents. A loose Forest of Arden theme also permeates the room, with framed feathers and plenty of floral
print accents.

The bed was very cosy and the views overlooking the gardens both day and night were stunning. The very comfortable two velour armchairs adorned with a loud floral print also brought a splash of colour, as an ideal space to sit, work and admire the garden view from the large traditional windows, overlooking the 125-year-old topiary garden, tennis courts, fountain (which is, thankfully, turned off overnight), and the hotel’s picturesque grounds.

Do take a stroll throughout the gardens they are truly lovely with quirky hedges.

It had a minibar and a dictated working desk where I could also have tea. It was lovely peering out of the window during my zoom meetings.

Bathroom

The bathroom was relaxing and the decor was pristine and white to give a nice vibe to it. Victorian features made it all that authentic British decor one would expect here.

Tips

When visiting Billesley Manor Hotel, it’s worth requesting a room in the older part of the hotel, ideally overlooking the garden.

Spa

The spa is nice and quaint and is undergoing new launches of products which many locals venture here when looking for some wellness. Book in advance your treatments to avoid missing out.

Breakfast

A large buffet full of English breakfast overlooking the gardens was the perfect way to wake up and take in the day. The seating area is lovely and the chair is very comfortable. Fresh produce and limitless coffee and tea are why I soaked up breakfast taking my time.

Timeless & Classic

Inspo Alert! During my stay, I kept noticing a particular pattern and design choice through the Manor; a herringbone pattern (I was even wearing a pair of tights with the same pattern on my arrival!). So, as a creative indication to me that I was ‘recharged’ I started to look into the significance and history of the Herringbone
pattern.

The Earliest

Examples of the herringbone pattern can be seen in the intricate jewellery of the Ancient Egyptian elite and in fabric originating in Ancient Italy.
Both herringbone and chevron patterns became very popular throughout the 1600s in France, symbolizing status and elegance. One of the first examples of
wooden herringbone flooring can be seen at the Francis I Gallery at the Chateau de Fontainebleau, which was installed in 1539.

Conclusion

Hotel Billesley is perfectly located for a weekend stay if you are looking for a break from a hectic life. Stratford Upon Avon is not far at all. The area allows one to hike for the day and explore the area. The garden is a perfect way to unwind and have a nice drink. With access to going for a swim and a sauna or booking a treatment for some pampering. If you are wanting a wedding celebration this hotel offers all the requirements for any celebration. Luxury Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin is located in the heart of Berlin, the central Mitte district, in a part that was formerly East berlin. It is on Unter den Linden, the main boulevard, and corners Pariser Platz opposite the iconic Brandenburg Gate. The Adlon Kempinski is strategically located within walking distance of tourist sites like the Reichstag, Tiergarten, Holocaust Memorial, Berliner Dom, and Alexander Platz.

Like the city it is located in, Hotel Adlon has had a turbulent history. It was first opened in 1907 with its first guest, the German emperor, Kaiser Wilhelm II. It quickly gained a reputation for being one of the most famous and beautiful hotels in the world attracting guests such as Franklin Roosevelt, Marlene Dietrich, Charlie Chaplin and Alber Einstein. For its time it was revolutionary,  Hotel Adlon was equipped with hot and cold running water and it had its own electricity plant.

The Aldon almost survived World War II without any major damage were it not for the fire on May 2 1945 started by drunken red army soldiers, which left the main building in Ruins. In Eastern  Germany’s hands, Hotel Adlon was run as a hotel with some parts being renovated, in the 1970s it seized to operate as a hotel and in 1984 the building was demolished. In 1957 The Kempinski Company bought the rights to the hotel Adlon name from the Adlon family. After reunification and some lengthy legal proceedings, the hotel Adlon was rebuilt and it reopened as the Hotel Adlon Kempinski in 1997.

25 Year Anniversary

I am staying at the hotel Adlon to celebrate 25 years since its reopening in 1997 with The Adlon Experience Anniversary Package. This anniversary package which can be booked until  31 December 2022 consists of:

• Overnight stay in one of our luxurious rooms or suites.
• Daily gourmet buffet breakfast.
• One bottle of champagne with strawberries and a welcome present on arrival.
• Adlon chocolate.
• Three-course dinner in our Restaurant Quarré, including a bottle of anniversary wine on the day of arrival. Children up to 11 years old choose two dishes from our children’s menu with one soft drink.
• Free use of our pool and fitness area.

The price of this package depends on the room and for a deluxe room, and I could book it for 746 euros for March in a deluxe room for two people.

My stay would coincide with our wedding anniversary albeit not 25 years but 24 years.

Checking in

I have never experienced a Kempinski hotel before, but this has to be the most friendliest and helpful staff I have ever encountered in my hotel reviews. Helpful, personal, friendly, and warm are how I would describe the service. Our baggage was taken care of by the concierge at the main door entrance, and the total check-in process took less than 5 minutes.

Lobby

The hotel lobby is a grand place with the famous Elephant Fountain in the middle, it was heaving with tourists and locals, and it is the heart of the Hotel Adlon Kempinski. This is an area to relax in and enjoy drinks, and exquisite snacks or you can come here for an Afternoon tea experience.

Pariser Platz Suite

We stayed at the Pariser Platz Suite which is an 80m2 one-bedroom suite which comes with unique views of Pariser Platz and the iconic Brandenburg Gate. This is a suite with a separate bedroom and living room, a bathroom, a walk-in wardrobe, an enclosed working area and two complimentary minibars.

Living Room

In the living room we were greeted with a bottle of Champagne which had the 25-year celebration logo on it, a bouquet of roses, and a massive Adlon chocolate. The living room was decorated in a neo-classical style with paisley pattern chairs and a sofa with flower pillows, and a classical vase within the marble fireplace surround. A dark wood theme runs throughout the room from doors to furniture to the bedframe.

This was complemented by paintings and photos on the wall, creating an understated elegance and relaxing atmosphere. The TV was concealed in a wooden frame above the marble fireplace. In the corner of the room was one of the complementary minibars with a wide range of drinks and snacks on offer.

What immediately struck me when entering were the two large balconettes which are providing amazing views of Brandenburg Gate. Upon opening the doors you could be part of the action on the Pariser Platz and when closed you would hear nothing. We spent the afternoon with the doors open, it was a beautiful autumn day in November after all. Both chairs faced the Brandenburg gate and we were sipping on a glass of Champagne. As today turned into night we aw the Brandenburg gate lit up. Yes, this felt like a good anniversary to us.

Bedroom

The bedroom had the same design theme with a dark wood four-poster bedframe with a striped velvet bedhead. The velvet bedroom bench was multi-functional, it was a bench but inside it concealed a remote control motorised flatscreen TV. Also in the bedroom is a balconette which had a neo-classical chair with a coffee table to enjoy the views on offer. Right next to it was the second complementary minibar.

Bathroom & Walk-in Wardrobe

Next to the bedroom were the bathroom and the massive walk-in wardrobe.

The bathroom is large and has a theme of black granite meeting white tiles and the same dark wood theme that can be found throughout the rest of the suite. The bath is huge and can easily fit a tall person. There is a separate rainfall shower and a separate toilet with doors that can be closed. The double sink area has plenty of mirrors to do a perfect grooming or makeup routine. The amenities provided were from the Tuscan Soul range by Salvatore Ferragamo.

Entrance and Work Area

At the entrance of the Pariser Platz suite, there was a second toilet, more storage space for our coats and shoes, and a large working desk in dark wood with plenty of power points and fixed connections to the Internet. This area could be closed off from the living room creating a dedicated and quiet working area.

Pool, Gym & Spa

For those that do not want to venture out into Berlin, there is a fitness centre and heated indoor pool (11m x 6 m) located in the basement of the hotel. The gym is well-equipped and comes with saunas, steam baths and a cold-water pool. After all the hard work there is a pool bar to relax. If not you can snack on the free fruit and water that is provided.

The Adlon Spa by Resense offers a spa menu which is tailored to “experiences that achieve your desired wellness result and a little more”.

Breakfast

Breakfast was served on the first floor called Bel Etage, where you have the option to be seated around the central atrium with views of the lobby, or in separate rooms where you can look out onto the Brandenburg Gate. If you want the view for breakfast make sure you come in first as these are the most popular seats.

Egg choices can be served a la carte, whereas the rest of the breakfast is an extensive luxury buffet. This is the best buffet MenStyleFashion has ever seen in Europe. The choices were endless, from fresh honey straight from the honeycomb, truffle salami, Champagne, 5 different types of caviar, to an amazing variety of German bread.

I loved the dedicated tea corner where you can mix your own tea ingredients together with herbs to create your own flavour, I have never seen anything like this.

Dinner

As part of The Adlon Experience Anniversary Package, we were served a three-course meal at Restaurant Quarré. This restaurant located on the ground floor has an indoor and outdoor seating area (depending on the weather) overlooking the Brandenburg gate.

The atmosphere was relaxing with a casual dress code, again the service was friendly, warm and personal. We started off with a glass of champagne and a vodka martini. The three-course meal was complimented by a Rober Weil “Hotel Adlon” Riesling.

Starter

As a starter, we had the Brandenburg Burrata multi-coloured beetroot with salted pistachio. This was an excellent executed fusion dish with Italian burrata meeting German beetroot.

Main course

The main course was a Beelitzer corn poulard breast with blackroot corn.

Dessert

For dessert, we had the chocolate cake fondant with vanilla sauce and hazelnut ice cream. A rich but o so heavenly dessert. Now all we needed was a coffee to finish it all.

Conclusion

They say when you celebrate you should celebrate in style and The Adlon Experience Anniversary Package is the package to do so. You get to experience all the great aspects of this luxury hotel in the heart of Berlin. From the elegant hotel rooms with a bottle of Champagne, the luxury buffet breakfast, the hotel Spa, and a three-course meal at Restaurant Quarré. With so much luxury on offer, it is hard to leave the hotel to do some sightseeing. Should you jump to upgrade to one of the suites? The pricing here takes an exponential curve due to exclusiveness and higher levels of luxury and room space.

The privilege of enjoying a bottle of Champagne in your own living room with views of Brandenburger gate at the Pariser Platz suite will set you back a cool 4,100 euros per night. Exclusivity comes at a price and we celebrated our 24-year wedding anniversary in super style. Our 25th one will be different, it should be celebrated with friends and family just like Hotel Adlon Kempinski celebrated its 25th with its guests and staff.

Housed in an elegant village called Chipping Campden in Gloucestershire is Cotswold House Hotel & Spa. Whilst staying here I met a gentleman who now resides in Australia who actually was born here. He said the house was the heart and soul of Chipping Campden. Cotswold House Hotel & Spa cuts quite the exterior with its Cotswold stone facade and white pillars. This honey-coloured architecture village is so picturesque. It is why I love staying at Cotswold House Hotel & Spa.

Private Parking

There is a dedicated parking space at the rear of the hotel. But I turned up with over £350,000 worth of cars, the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster, and Bentley Continental GTC Speed. But I decided to park them outside the hotel for all the locals to see. Chipping Campden is my favourite Cotswold village to visit and the only hotel for me to rest is the Cotswold House Hotel & Spa.

Reception

Clearly staying at Cotswold House Hotel & Spa is like a home. So from the moment, I entered interior design weaved an equally interesting story of both past and present. It is like skipping the queue at a gallery and checking in at one of these elegant art-inspired hotels.

Drawing Room Breakfast

This drawing room sits alongside the original interior features, even though this beautiful Grade II listed property has been renovated with modern artistic wallpaper, it still conveys all the historical charms of the past.

If you all looking for a fabulous background for an Instagram shot this wallpaper is it.

This is also the breakfast sitting area which is fabulous when soaking up the morning and peeking out at locals. The wall-to-ceiling windows are just stunning to soak up the sunshine that peers through them. Even if you are just passing through Chipping Campden drop by for some afternoon tea or lunch.

The Fig

There are two dining spaces and the Fig is a more formal setting. The food is fresh and sourced from the local area. The portions are big and well-presented.

Tender steak with fresh vegetables you can’t go wrong with that. This hearty meal gave me all the energy I needed for my drive the next morning.

The Bistro is more casual and equally great food. I had great sausage rolls with fresh salad and yummy chips. Again the food served is simple but it is made from scratch and is so tasty.

Spa & Gardens

Ashbee is a first-floor, spacious suite that reflects the neighbourhood’s way of living. This is what I adore about Cotswold House Hotel & Spa experience. It is everything and more regarding a Cotswold stay. From the moment I walked up the gorgeous garden path I knew I was going to live like the locals do here in Chipping Campden.

If you keep walking further you will end up at the spa which has direct road access to it including private parking. Just to the left was Ashbee cottage which was fabulous because I had nonobtrusive views of the gardens and the main house. The spa is big enough to soak up after a long day walking and you can also book treatments. Make sure you make an appointment way ahead to avoid disappointment.

Cottage Junior Suite

I was pleasantly surprised when walking into Ashbee cottage through the private entrance on the ground floor. This was fabulous to leave your muddy boots if you were hiking and also to leave your umbrella and coats, so it kept the upstairs clean. Once I walked up I felt the room turned into a tardis of immense space. The landing was another great space for extra luggage. There were plenty of windows where I could peek out into every direction of the garden, reminding me of the leafy Cotswolds that is ever so popular.

There were lots of tables I could place my items on, plenty of chairs to lounge on or lay my wardrobe on. There was a dedicated wardrobe with an iron board and an iron which I used and worked very well. There were ample drawers to place items in if I needed to.

This quaint suite had such a relaxing Feng Shue. The huge bed had lots of fluffy pillows, and lovely bed linen, and was so warm and snug. Perfect after a long day driving for me. The bed head was comfortable to lie on and I liked the lights which were easy to access during the night. There was a nice flat TV for anyone wanting to catch up on some news.

The Bathroom

The large separate bathroom was opposite the sleeping area in a different room and is perfect for people like me. That wake up at 2 am after the distress of driving a 650bhp, Bentley Continental GTC Speed convertible. It meant I could be loud and close the two doors and no one else could hear me. The deep soaking bath which I found huge for me was great. I liked the large bottles of refilled spa products that relaxed my aching body. Don’t worry you can buy the products, just ask reception.

There were ample large fluffy towels, they were so big one towel could dry two people. The dedicated rain shower was appealing to relax in eliminating the tension in my shoulders after a fun day of driving the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster.

The access to so many windows in this cottage created natural light in the room. The garden view from any part of the suite was a reminder of why Britain is famous for its tea gardens.

Conclusion

Big thanks to Craig and his staff who went above and beyond to make my stay a memorable and unforgettable one. Being responsible for two luxury cars on this occasion two was no small task. I can only describe my stay as a woman who reclines amongst the Cotswold gardens, gazing directly at her mother’s nature paintings. But my thoughts were elsewhere. I am perfectly serene.

As the pandemic continues to affect my livelihood it is important to fight against uncertainty and anxiety. But optimism is a choice and so is self-pampering. Finding the hope to move forward is why staying at Hotel Indigo in Stratford Upon Avon, the home of Shakespeare, has given me the confidence to embrace life as it comes and to the full. As a mother of two opting for a hotel stay is all about recharging my soul, body, and mind.

The Building

This four-star hotel is perfectly centrally located to explore both the home of Shakespeare and the glorious-looking town called, Stratford Upon Avon. The town offers so many activities to explore. Therefore the hotel allowed me to explore at leisure the iconic places that once were home to Shakespeare himself. Hotel Indigo Stratford Upon Avon is a perfect example of Tudor-style interior design that is part of Britain’s heritage.

Interior Design

This impeccably restored hotel is a must-visit when coming to Stratford Upon Avon. The decor is a combination of wood-panelled Tudor rooms with a cacoon atmosphere surroundings. There are 93 stylish guest rooms keeping with the theme of the local neighborhood.

There are many cosy seating areas to soak up the atmosphere and words of Shakespeare himself. The rooms are inspired by the Bard and reflect Stratford’s history, which dates back to medieval times.

Reception And Parking

Stratford upon Avon is a busy place and parking can be challenging. Hotel Indigo Stratford Upon Avon offers safe and easy access to private parking. Make sure you register your Aston Martin when checking in at the stylish and welcoming reception.

This is the hallway to the Woodsman restaurant and The Falcon Tea Room.

If floral print inspiration for your home is what you are seeking, Hotel Indigo Stratford has endless examples of furniture and wallpaper designs. Throughout the hotel, there are wooden floors which for me reflect the decor of what once was.

The Woodsman

The food at this hotel is excellent. The attention to detail regarding local produce is why every dish I ate was truly delicious. The food was in season and the wood oven fire added to a nice cozy atmosphere.

The food presentation paired with the right wine comes down to the staff knowing what is being served.

The local beef was tender as can be and it was delicious. Some delicious chunky chips with Ceasar salad.

The dessert ended a hard day’s work after a long drive in the Aston Martin Vantage.

Breakfast

Known as the Feasting room there were lovely seating areas I could soak up the morning’s plans for a busy day here in Stratford. Breakfast offered a variety of fresh fruit and local pieces of bread. A dedicated menu offering a full English breakfast or vegan options meant endless choices of food to start the day.

King Standard

The Contemporary rooms are in the new wing which is elegant, fun, and very relaxing. This room has a great Feng Shue.

The large bed with glorious heritage touches complements compelling contemporary elements.

My sleep was peaceful due to the endless choices of pillows and relaxing lighting. If you are looking for inspiration for your drawing room at home, the murals, paintings, and interior colours here are all worth taking on board during your stay.2

This room reminds me of my personal wardrobe with its array of chequered prints and a mix of endless colours to sleep in.

Art is still very much the lifeblood of any Indigo hotel. This room is focused on themes that of course are about Shakespeare himself. The room had wooden flooring which I like for hygiene purposes. There was plenty of wardrobe space so I could tuck away my wardrobe.

The dedicated desk allowed me to work in comfort and there was plenty of mood lighting for me to play with and be able to set different tones throughout the night whilst working.

Bathroom

The bathroom is huge with 16 sqm in size. The victorian bath and tile decor are very stylish and create an amazing setting for me to do some of my Instagram shots.

The dedicated rain shower was very relaxing. And the choice of tiles made it more playful whilst showering.

The eco-friendly trend in hotels now is large bottles of amenities that can be refilled. Fewer plastic bottles mean less waste within hotels. Bramley products are the preferred choice at any Indigo hotel. Don’t worry there is an option for you to buy these products to take home for a memorable stay at any Indigo hotel. There were no slippers which I like to see as for me they are an unnecessary waste not needed in any hotel. Just bring your own.

Soaking up in style for me is important during any hotel stay. This Victorian-style bath with its shiny claw feet was large and very relaxing. A nice wellness touch accessible at any time of the day.

If tile inspiration for an eclectic bathroom is what you seeking, then this is the bathroom to be inspired by.

There were plenty of huge fluffy towels available and I was impressed with the powerful hairdryer. A good working iron was also handy for my change of wardrobe during my stay.

Mini Bar And Coffee

A dedicated Nespresso machine and tea were always on hand. The complimentary mini-bar meant I was always able to have a drink on and off duty.

Gym

There is also a gym where if you need to destress or keep up your fitness you won’t be missing out.

Conclusion

Hotel Indigo Stratford Upon Avon is a very special hotel due to its interior design. Inspired by its heritage and thoughtful designs. This is why no two Hotel Indigos are ever the same. The heart and soul of the hotel are the restaurants and staff alone. It is a lovely hotel to host events and celebrations, which include private parking. The hotel guest rooms are made of three very different but impressive room designs. You can opt for The Tudor Rooms, The Georgian Townhouse which is inspired by Shakespeare’s Theatre, and finally, The Contemporary Rooms in the new wing which is where I rested, played, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

If you are seeking a central stay in Rotterdam, Holland’s second-largest city, with access to endless amounts of shops in the city centre, then Hilton Rotterdam is the place to stay. I have stayed in many Hilton hotels here in Holland and each one offers unique experiences. They are always situated in accessible areas of any Dutch city, like the Hilton in the Hague.

The location of Hilton Rotterdam is a maximum 5-minute walk from the Central Station and the local shopping area with the Koopgoot and Bijenkorf department store is just around the corner. Also within walking distance are the iconic Markthal and the cubic houses.

Hilton Cleanstay

Hilton introduced ‘Hilton Cleanstay’ last year. This is a new form of hygiene and disinfection within its hotels. It is a promise to provide the same level of reliable and friendly service that Hilton guests can expect, but with the extra confidence of leading hygiene practices.

Reception

The reception area of the Hilton Rotterdam is warm and cosey and has a lovely seating area for check-in. It represents a clean and inviting place to stay. Leather, faux leather and fabric designs are often favoured, owing to their effortless capacity to soften interiors. Indeed, in classic and contemporary hotels like Hilton, neutral colours are a common feature.

Hotels are used for a number of other purposes besides accommodation. A setting for anything from business conferences, business meetings to wedding receptions. The Hilton Rotterdam ticks all these boxes.

King Executive Room

I stayed in the King Executive Room which are located on the 9th and 10th floor offering city views over Rotterdam, Holland’s most modern city. There was a lovely welcome bottle of Prosecco with some macarons, which I thoroughly enjoyed soaking up the view.

Nice to see how the city operated any time of the day. My daughter loved it so much she would watch her tablet here.

In the King Executive Room, the benefits, were an LCD TV, WiFi, 2 complimentary bottles of water and a Nespresso coffee machine, always a winner to me. The room features one king-sized Hilton Serenity bed. This was a massive bed and being a nation hosting one of the tallest people in the world it is very sensible to have.

I am a big fan of oak and wooden furniture, more so with a retro vibe. This room has a lovely feel to it, the furniture is comfortable to sleep and lounge in.

I am also a big lover of dedicated working desks. This combined with a very comfortable orange desk chair made my working life a pleasant one.

Bathroom

I really enjoyed the interior design of this bathroom. The big bath was lovely to soak in after all day exploring Rotterdam and its museums and harbours. This bathroom with spa-like features is an open invitation to relaxation and a sure-proof method of alluring guests through the promise of ephemeral luxury. Think en-suite bedrooms, waterfall showers, oversized bathtubs, large sinks, giant towels, beauty items and plenty of space.

Wellness treats are part of a nice hotel stays. So plenty of Crabtree and Evelyn products to ensure a relaxing stay.

Restaurant JAQ – Art Work

It’s a mutually beneficial exchange: the artist gets fed and watered, while JAQ restaurant’s walls are adorned by Art. The seats are filled with an interesting crowd, drawn by the Art spectacle as much as the eating. It is one of the nicest restaurant settings in a Hilton I have seen in a very long time. They use bright colours and unusual materials to offer an experience that transcends the norm.

Breakfast is served at JAQ restaurant. I ordered pancakes and omelettes from this area and it was served in the Executive lounge for me.

The coffee was excellent here and so was the service.

A lovely area to unwind in.

The dining area is naturally the first area your guests will see, thereby setting the standard. Take care to furnish it in a way that summarises the ethos of your business. Besides JAQ there are two other restaurants in the Hilton Rotterdam with fine dining at Joelia, and Indonesian style food at TIWYA.

Executive Lounge

Executive rooms and suites come with the benefit of access to the Executive Lounge, which is a great area to chill out and network whilst enjoying complimentary refreshments and drinks. Currently, the Executive Lounge is open on Friday and Saturday from 16.00H – 20.00H. All other days drinks and appetizers are available in your room.

As I was there during the weekend the buffet breakfast was served here too. If I did not see what I wanted I simply asked. There’s nothing like getting that perfectly cooked omelette. It was given to me with brilliant customer service.

I could also have as much Nespresso coffee and tea as I wanted. In fact right throughout the day. The setting in this area was nice to access too.

Conclusion

I enjoyed the central location of Hilton Rotterdam as well as the city views that I could admire. There are plenty of stylish public seating areas as well as the executive lounge that made my stay in Hilton Rotterdam worthwhile. Especially after a full day of shopping and sightseeing when I needed some chill time. It is great to be able to socialise in such a beautiful setting. Foodies hardly have to go far as this hotel has three different restaurants to suit your appetite and budget.

Like many location-independent households, my family took the opportunity to relocate to Thailand in early 2021. The pandemic prompted us to reevaluate our options and Hua Hin was chosen as our new home base in order to finish homeschooling our kids whilst enjoying much needed outdoor time in an otherwise increasingly restricted world of travel and forced mandates.

Needless to say, I was after some undisturbed “me” time, in order to reconnect and be pampered, and I found Let’s Sea Hua Hin Al Fresco Resort to be exactly what I needed.

Location and Concept

Located on the Southern and more upmarket end of Hua Hin Beach, the Resort enjoys both sunrise and sunset opportunities and takes perfect advantage of its natural surrounds, breezy and green, an oasis of calm and traditional Thai hospitality. Beachside, nature, flair and clever design meet barefoot luxury.

The Lobby

I arrived at the impressive lobby where I was greeted by my holiday host who offered me welcome freshly pressed juices from the lobby bar and proceeded to explain my wellness itinerary. The rattan ceiling and oakwood centre column adds an element of sophistication, the colours offer a warm palate of understated elegance in décor and evoke romance, playfulness and refinement. I was energized and immediately wanted to explore the facilities.

The Moondeck Al Fresco Suite

My suite is one of only 40 built around a central lagoon-style swimming pool. The units were conceived with human space, privacy, and comfort in mind. I love the interior colours, they make me feel calm. Oakwood floors and fittings, travertine marble and light brown natural stone create an ambience of luxury and sophistication. I felt relaxed and my senses were nurtured. Built-in double cavity brick, they share no common walls ensuring my comfort. Indoors and outdoors blend as the floor to ceiling windows open to create a French balcony. I love my bathroom, with its soaring ceiling over the bathtub. An oakwood staircase takes me to my very own private rooftop chillout area.

Al Fresco Dining

Let’s Sea Hua Hin’s Beach Restaurant was founded almost 20 years ago by a small group of savvy 20 somethings, one thing was clear to them: the food had to taste just like the one from their parents’ kitchen. Not only have they lived up to their dream, but they have managed to create an exquisite ambience with soaring ceilings, extensive use of wooden finishes, open spaces that let nature merge with design and soft golden lighting.

The sea breeze and scent filled the air as we sampled our mocktails made with fresh local fruit. I particularly enjoyed the strawberry daiquiri and the passionfruit mojito. Entrée was traditional leaf-wrapped salad bites (Meang Kana) with its array of perfectly-balanced flavours: hot, sour, salty and sweet.

The main dish was melt-off the bone spare ribs with Hua Hin pineapple. For dessert, my guests and I moved to the outdoor deck area where time stood still as the starry night above and the softly lapping waves below created a captivating moment. Passionfruit gelato and fresh fruit sealed the meal.

Gaia Spa

My spa time is where I reconnect with myself. I was happy to find Gaia spa to be located on the rooftop just above the lobby, a glass polygon structure surrounded by exotic gardens. The treatment included a soothing foot bath with coconut milk, fresh slices of lime and essential oils, followed by a rosehip all body scrub and a full body massage.

I particularly enjoyed how the staff created my experience with my input. I picked cedarwood, lavender and neroli to transport me to a world of deep relaxation and rejuvenation. Warm tea was served to me at the end of my visit which invigorated me and set me up for the day.

Thai Tea Time

An afternoon with friends by the beach turned into High Tea Thai style. The staff were so attentive, ensuring my friends and I had drinks as they set up the ultra-comfortable sunchairs for us, then swiftly left, but not before handing us a wooden frog artefact so we could call on them if needed. Little details like this one dotted my stay, and I must admit I was impressed with how meticulous and graceful all members of staff were in ensuring the highest level of comfort and service for me and my guests during my stay, true savoir-faire all round.

Tea time was a veritable sumptuous feast of both savoury and sweet selections carefully balanced on glass platters evoking an underwater seascape. The choices were undeniably Thai, paying homage to tradition without compromising on world-class delivery.

After dinner, I enjoyed my own private chillout moment at my rooftop terrace. I poured myself a glass of Veuve Clicquot and gazed at the beautiful starry night from my al fresco bubble bath.

Sunrise Breakfast

I absolutely loved the Al Fresco Beachfront Bar for the all-inclusive breakfast. The P³ fresh fruit juice was one of my favourites: pineapple, parsley and passionfruit, they also featured guava and lychee and mint amongst others. The coffee is brewed fresh and is sourced from Northern Thailand. I ordered an almond mocha frappe and classic breakfast dishes prepared with prawns, eggs and rice like the crab meat omelet with lobster bisque.

Thai cuisine at its finest served at my table by the sea. I finished off with perfectly cooked Belgian waffles. The fishermen out at sea, the early sun, the waves at my feet, space and abundant natural beauty, it is easy to understand why Let’s Sea Hua Hin Al Fresco Resort ticks all the boxes for discerning couples looking for a romantic and secluded getaway.

As I checked out I already looked forward to coming back to Let’s Sea, for some pampering time on my own or a romantic weekend with my husband. The perfect place to create memories of high tea by the sea with family and friends in this our new home for the next few years. You must check it out.

Conclusion

Attention to detail, gorgeous presentation, world-class spa treatments and outstanding catering and ambience. Let’s Sea Al Fresco Resort Hua Hin is on my top list of Hua Hin hotels for romantic getaways.
