Men’s Leather Trousers

When you imagine guys in leather pants, who pops into your head? For me, it’s definitely rock legend Jon Bonjovi. But let me tell you, leather pants can be a tricky business. If you’re not careful, you’ll end up looking like a total fool. It’s a battle of man vs. pants – they’ll try to steal the spotlight, but you’ve got to show them who’s boss. If you can rock those leather trousers with confidence, you’re practically a certified rock star!

I’m thrilled to report that leather pants for men are making a major comeback, with a modern twist. They’re the perfect fashion statement for fall and winter. Sleek, stylish, and oh-so-cool. But here’s the catch – you’ve got to style them just right. Whether you go for slim-fit leather pants, leather leggings, or even faux leather, make sure it flatters your fabulous self.

How on earth do you choose the right leather trousers for you?

Rocking leather trousers is not for the weak-willed, my friend. It’s like a wrestling match just to squeeze into them, but if you’re blessed with long, gazelle-like legs, boy oh boy, you’ll be turning heads left and right. Your legs will be shouting, “Hey, world, look at me!” On the other hand, if your legs are more on the stout side, it’s best to steer clear of leather trousers and save yourself the embarrassment. But hey, don’t give up hope! Give those legging-style leather trousers a shot. Just make sure to bring along your brutally honest squad to tell it like it is. Trust me, you’ll thank them later.

Slimming Looking Legs

Only the fearless can rock leather on leather. Opt for black leather pants because they have magical slimming powers. The fashion models are daringly tucking their leather pants into big, chunky boots. But be warned, not everyone can pull off this look as effortlessly as they do. Keep in mind that it’s all about how long and slender your legs appear. The “tree trunk leg” style won’t win over everyone’s hearts, just so you know.

Imitation Leather Trousers AKA Pleather

Imagine strutting down the street, feeling like a rockstar in your brand-new pair of imitation leather or pleather trousers. These bad boys are the epitome of coolness, with their sleek black exterior and shiny finish. They hug your curves in all the right places, giving you a confidence boost like no other. You can’t help but feel like a rebel, ready to take on the world with your edgy fashion choice. And the best part? No animals were harmed in the making of these pants. That’s right, they’re completely vegan-friendly!

Pair them with a graphic tee and some chunky boots for an effortlessly cool look, or dress them up with a blouse and heels for a night out. The possibilities are endless. So go ahead, unleash your inner rockstar and rock those imitation leather trousers with pride. Who said you can’t be fashionable and ethical at the same time?

I will leave you with the funny clip from Friends where Ross asks Joey to help him with his leather trousers.

The $143 million purpose-built centre sits comfortably next to the Jardin d’Acclimatation in Paris´s 16th arrondissement. Conceived by Frank Gehry, the construction aims to serve as both an art museum and cultural centre for the citizens of Paris and beyond which it has achieved to date with an unpredicted success. Whilst at Paris Fashion Week happening right now.  Gracie Opulanza and I took some time out to explore this amazing building.

La Galerie

One year on and Louis Vuitton is yet again opening a second museum space but with slightly different credentials. ´La Galerie´ is a 6500 square foot private exhibition space which takes pride of place on the ancestral grounds of Louis Vuitton´s family estate in the northern suburb of Asnieres Sur Seine. The former original family home and workshop buildings still function here for the production of their most exclusive ready to order items. An intimate inauguration which was hosted by the brand´s ´current face´ Michelle Williams showcased this deferential construction with fashion Professor Judith Clark acting as host, allowing its guests an intimate tour through its myriad of spaces with drinks and canapes on hand.

We wanted it to be perceived very much as a gallery intervention, it’s like an installation reflecting on the idea of exhibiting the Vuitton archive. It’s intended to be kind of slightly disruptive in that way – Judith Clark

The formidable space is carried over two floors which act as a retrospective home to some 400 objects and documents selected from the personal Vuitton archive which totals 26,000 articles and 165,000 documents. There are also many curiosities from the Vuitton families’ personal collection such as a pair of 17th-century Venetian women´s platform shoes and a travel trunk from the courtier Paul Poiret.

La Galerie – Curiosities From Various Centuries

“Everything about this exhibition is in a way against unidirectional chronology, but instead around a kind of restless interpretation of the absolutely huge number of objects that they have,” Judith quoted in accordance with the companies philosophy. Here, all the lines and corners within the space have been carefully considered. An inspiration from a small interlocking Pateki puzzle (originally designed by Gaston Louis Vuitton in 1930´s) gave inspiration for the marquetry and structure of the poplar display cabinets which surround the experience. “I kind of thought, Ok, let’s build a Pateki where the walls never quite match, they never quite sit and so the tension between pieces is always there,” she described. All the bases, walls and details of the units are inlaid with marquetry designs that hint at calligraphic notions. “It’s the idea of using the material of the poplar that was always brought in for the trunks but morphing it into shapes associated with design. And so instead of telling a story of savoir-faire, showing it,”

Poplar Lined Contemporary Interiors

The main ground floor space pays homage to a comprehensive selection of original trunks and toiletry sets, which sit juxtaposed next to product brochures, modern Vuitton correspondence and more current collection designs such as a bag designed last year by artist Cindy Sherman. “I think people underestimate how the material was generated knowingly by them and how imaginative they were in terms of playing with the new shapes associated with travel, and so there’s a kind of wit,” said Clark, drawing attention to her favourite exhibit, a parchment full of rough, playful sketches from the early 1900´s which was softly lit and framed by the pale wood.

A Retrospective Of The Famous Louis Vuitton Trunk

The interior massing and space control of the museum conveys a spirit of drama. Its imposing arches formed of poplar span dramatically across the heritage laden space. On one side, there is a Keepall bag from 1930 that belonged to Gaston-Louis Vuitton. Then, next to it a Bowling Vanity Tuffetage bag from creative director Nicolas Ghesquière’s autumn 2014 show.

It’s about fashion as fashion. It’s fashion as collaboration, and its fashion as the muses and owners and wearers associated with the luggage, so at a certain point, you’re kind of personifying it – Judith Clark

Peppered throughout the collection are clothing contributions from Louis Vuitton’s current and past creative directors; Nicolas Ghesquiere, Kim Jones and Marc Jacobs – in addition to period offerings from Jeanne Lanvin, Christian Dior and Madeleine Vionnet, acting as a snapshot through the houses various era´s. Towards the side of the foundation, a small scale model of the building is held up by a mannequin clad in Ghesquière’s recent designs, with film footage wrapped around the perimeter of it, paying tribute to the house’s history of collaborating with artists such as Richard Prince and Daniel Buren. “It’s about fashion as fashion. It’s fashion as collaboration, and it’s fashion as the muses and owners and wearers associated with the luggage, so at a certain point, you’re kind of personifying it,” Clark explained. It is clear that even though Vuitton remains essentially about the trunks, there is a kind of endurance to the dialogue between fashion and the house as well as the importance of the luggage.

Historical Fashion Contributions

Several pieces in the collection are easily identifiable from the 2012 Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs exhibition held at Les Arts Decoratifs, which Judith attempted to look at with fresh eyes before affirming “I work predominantly as an academic. I think that was important to them, to have an outsider’s view, someone who could come in, research the archive and work slightly more experimentally around it,”

One of the instigations for having something more perpetual and conclusive was thanks to the original site. ¨People come here to see the Maison de Famille and the atelier. They kind of fall in love with the idea that this is the heart of the company and where all the special designs are made. It’s giving customers the context of the brand’s history and dedication to quality when they come and request their special commission. This is what they’re participating in, they are helping to write the current and future history of the brand for the next generation.”

This original article was first published here: Fashion Photography – Sexual Abuse Behind The Hidden Lense

In the recent advert by Kering Group which owns Balenciaga, it comes as no surprise to the vulgar extremes the fashion industry has used over the years. We as male models too get sexually harassed and groomed so young. There is no accountability when it comes to brands like Gucci. The male modeling industry is full of young vulnerable men being sexually groomed too. Today I want to share what I witnessed doing a modeling shoot.

I am a very famous male model and have been for several years. I want to share my story and encourage any male or female model. For without the camera, what does this become?  Sexual abuse within the fashion industry, especially at the hands of a professional photographer. Should never be tolerated at the expense of anyone wanting to become a famous fashion model.

The Flight To Mexico

I abuse the endless supply of salted nuts and can’t stop adjusting my fully reclining seat. The flight from Mexico is long and I’m tired and I should probably sleep but I’m so excited about the massage button on the seat controls and the free nuts that I don’t even bother. I’m wearing a hoodie/sweatpant combo and the rich businessman who’s wearing a suit sat adjacent from me keeps looking at me funny. I want to flick a peanut in his face. The flight attendant in First is all “Yes Sir, Of course, Sir” and I find his pomp contagious and begin to say stupid shit like ‘splendid’ as he brings me my fifth bowl of nuts. I’ve just made 30,000 grand.

Treat Me How I Deserve to Be

We land late, my bags come out first and the rich businessman who deserves nuts in his face eyes me with what I think is contempt. In arrivals, a man holding my name on a whiteboard meets me and he guides me to his black Mercedes that ferries me to a generic-looking studio. Lightly varnished wooden floors meet white painted brick walls. A colourama is in one corner lights being set up.

Some semi-naked girl struts in front of me taking up a pose against one of the walls. I’m told to dig in to breakfast, a massive spread of everything, but before I can even start on it I’m ferried into makeup where I’m oiled, tanned four shades darker and then handled through to wardrobe.

I’m basically going to be naked all day.

What a surprise. I chat to the other model dude. He sounds like a sure as a shit douchebag, a European with an American accent who tells me the sort of stuff that’s been going on already. ‘Dude I’ve been like grabbing her ass, practically fingering her, she’s had her tits in my face whilst she’s been like grabbing on her pussy.’ Yep. That’s how douches talk.

Fashion Photography - Confessions From A Male Model

The Sleazy Fashion Photographer

The photographer introduces himself, he’s a douche too, a sleazy, cocksure Yank who arms himself with two compacts, one in each hand, who fires off the flash on both cameras alternately as if he were in some shit action film and the cameras were his guns. The makeup artist hates him. The production team hate him. We all hate him. At one point in the shoot, he even stops and crosses over to the speakers to turn up the volume of a song about having a massive penis.

I couldn’t have said it better myself. What a dick.

I resume breakfast sitting in the studio, sort of not knowing where to look, as the babe with her breasts out writhes on a beat-up leather sofa whilst the douche with a camera leans over her and snaps away saying things like, “Yeah, real sexy, bite your lip, yeah, now look at me like you love me.” What a fucking douche.

I barely eat any breakfast because I want to look ripped in the picture. The girl wraps herself in a gown. In front of my eyes, she’s just been totally sexualized and I can’t help thinking she’s a total fuck minx who would eat me alive. She kinda scares me. But when I finally pluck up the courage to talk to her, distracting her from the book that hides her face by enquiring about its contents, I realise that she’s shyer than I am.

She’s young, inexperienced, impressionable, and she’s really really uncomfortable doing what she’s doing. Her makeup is plastered on as thick as card and I can tell that under it all she’s quite plain looking and really insecure. How could my perceptions have been so wrong? Oh, how quick we are to judge. It feels to me like she’s hating this.

Fashion Photography - Confessions From A Male Model

There is only one reason why you close the set?

In the next shot I’m spread on a couch like jam, arms over my head, all my muscles pushed out. After this, me and the other dude model pose awkwardly on a steel ladder before he’s instructed to climb atop my shoulders, his cock digs into my neck…But this is fine… I’m prepared for this. I’ve had worse. What I’m not prepared for is what happens next. The dickhead with the cameras closes the set. Completely. Not even his assistant is allowed behind the white poly boards that completely annex off a section of the studio. The fragile girl is somewhere behind there too. Hidden from us all. The entire team sits outside waiting for them to come out the only thing we can see from behind the poly boards is the flash that at least signifies that some photos are being taken.

There is only one reason why you close the set: people are getting naked. I’ve never seen a photographer abolish even his first assistant from attending. I ask his assistant whether he does this often. Apparently, he does. I begin to fear the worst, I begin to fear that the young 16 year old behind the screen is being taken advantage of and were all just sitting here waiting for it to stop. A weird silence settles over us, our glances convey what can’t be said, and the only thing that breaks the tension is the momentary flash that outlines the poly board walls.

Walls That Block Us From Seeing With Our Own Eyes

Walls that block us from seeing with our own eyes what cannot be worse than the images our collective imagination hold. Gradually the flashes become more intermittent and eventually stop altogether. For a long awkward time, we all sit there and wait. Wait for the flash that justifies us sitting here.

I’m holding my breath waiting for the next one to come. The silence becomes sinister. I can no longer hold back my imagination that now sees the photographer breathing onto naked flesh, whispering explicit, his subject held in the inhumane-eye of the camera, the camera that justifies all of it.

For without the camera, what does this become?

The girl steps out from the behind the polyboards. The photographer follows kicking his feet guiltily after a period of time that feels too considered. The girl leaves the studio without saying goodbye to anyone. Maybe nothing happened? May!

Don’t Be Afraid To Speak Out

Next week I fly to the Maldives for a week to shoot a campaign with a photographer who loves me, though he says “amazing” far too much. It’s one of the places I’ve always wanted to go. I know I’m lucky.

Am I deserving?

How about the girl who left without saying goodbye?

Was she?

They say that you are what you wear. So, could dressing better help you play better when playing casino games? Well, we think so. Since the beginning of time, clothes have represented our cultures, statuses, and historical backgrounds as symbolic garments. Considering playing casino games, dressing up a bit can help you exude your desired position and give you the confidence boost to perform your best.

Dressing for Performance

Let’s go back to science. According to researchers, clothing can impact your overall performance when doing an activity. An experiment was conducted by giving individuals lab coats – those white ones that doctors wear. Some individuals were told that they were doctors’ coats, others were told that they were painters’ coats, and the rest wore normal casual clothing. When doing work, the individuals who were told they were wearing a doctor’s coat outperformed the rest of the test subjects.

This experiment reveals that clothing and its specific symbolic meaning changes our thinking. We’re not saying that you should wear a lab coat to ensure optimal performance when playing a casino game, but we are saying that wearing an outfit that makes you feel confident and focused can truly enhance your thinking while playing a casino game. So, make sure that you dress in an outfit that can help you perform your best during a casino game. If you need help selecting a good casino site to complement your dress style, check out the list of reliable Trustly casinos when planning your next casino game.

You Are What You Wear

We have different outfits to suit the occasion we are dressing for. From casual looks to professional attire, clothes represent the appropriate characteristics we have to embody when fulfilling a certain role. We wear casual clothes like jeans, shorts, sneakers and hoodies over the weekend when we unwind and relax at home or with friends. We dress up in glamorous and bespoke garments for sophisticated dinners and fancy parties. And we curate professional outfits like suits, ties, and leather Oxfords for going into the office or meeting.

Over the last few years, however, it has become more accepted in our global society to dress more casually. We now wear hoodies, jeans, and sneakers in professional settings, jeans and a blazer for elegant get-togethers, and our casual attire is mostly tracksuits and trainers. With that being said, people are now wearing what makes them feel most comfortable when doing a particular activity. When it comes to playing casino games, focus and confidence are two things that are necessary to perform well.

Clothing is a Form of Communication

Clothing has always been a tool of communication. Purple dye was very exorbitantly expensive back in the day because the pigment took thousands of sea snails’ shells to make the dye. So, only royalty could afford purple garments, which made purple a symbol of royalty. If people wore purple in ancient times, the rest of society knew for a fact that they were witnessing royal individuals.

Like the colour purple, the items of clothing you wear communicate your status to people. Again, we’re not saying you should wear purple when you play a casino game – unless it’s your favourite colour – but wearing an outfit that communicates what you want to be can perhaps help you show what you’re all about. So, dressing a certain way tells other players that you are here for “business” or “pleasure”.

Dressing Well

Whether you’re playing a casino game as an enthusiast or a high-roller, dressing a particular way isn’t only a tool to communicate to others but for yourself too. So what is dressing well? How do you accomplish the look that you want to show off? Many stylists say that there are certain ‘rules’ that you should follow to dress better, but we believe that there should rather be a few ‘guidelines’ that can help you curate the ideal outfit.

Whether you are more of a classical bespoke suit lover or a modern-day rebel, as long as you wear your outfit with pride. If you are into suits, a good blazer and button-up shirt is the way to go. If you like a little more of an edgy look, a white T and a leather jacket with black jeans can give you the ultimate rebel look. Besides garments, taking care of your appearance and throwing on an accessory or two, like cufflinks or a watch, can help you embrace the ultimate look you’re going for when playing your favourite casino game.

Can Dressing Better Help You Play Better

Conclusion

Dressing well can help you exude the confidence you need to perform well in any activity. Taking a look at what researchers have discovered, we can see that clothing can help us think better according to what the clothing represents for us. Dressing well can also be a tool to communicate to other people who you are and what you’re all about. We suggest the next time you plan to go and play a casino game, invest a bit of time considering and curating your ideal outfit that will be sure to impress.

When the internet first came into existence, or rather, when it first came into people’s homes, it changed everything. It’s true there are some negative elements to being online, and some people choose to stay away from this technology because of that, but it’s equally true that there are many positives, and dozens, maybe hundreds, of different reasons to love the internet. Read on to find out what just some of them are so that when you go online, you can stick to the good things and stay away from the bad.

Connections

It used to be so easy (and unintentional) to fall out of touch with people. After leaving school and college, when changing jobs, the people we used to be connected to can disappear from our lives when moving house. Even if they were very close once, it might be that, in the past, you would never be able to find them again.

Today things are very different, and thanks to the internet, it’s almost impossible to accidentally disconnect from people – if you want to, however, that’s a different story altogether. The internet means that you can soon connect again, just like old times, if you want to find someone and they want to be found. As well as that, making new friends is easy when you go online, so there is never any need for anyone to truly be lonely, even if you are only connected online and never meet in real life.

Great Reasons To Love The Internet

Fun

As time goes on, it seems that the world is getting busier and busier, and there isn’t so much time left over to have fun anymore. The thing to remember is that fun is crucial to living a full and good life, and if we ignore it or we leave it at the bottom of our priority list, then we won’t live life to the fullest.

The internet allows us to have some fun whenever we want to, even if we have only a short amount of time to enjoy it. A quick game on JackpotCity Casino slots can help pass a few moments or de-stress us for a few minutes. Researching something you love, watching a video, playing a game with others, listening to music, and so much more can all be done online, and if you find it fun, it will enhance your life.

Work

We’ve talked about how much fun the internet allows us to have, even if our lives are extremely busy, but we’ve not yet talked about that busyness. Thankfully, the internet can help with that too, because being online and being connected can make work much easier, thus making us less busy and more productive, which means that we have more time for fun, as we’ve mentioned above.

For some people, their jobs simply wouldn’t be possible if the internet didn’t exist, and the number of entrepreneurs starting their own businesses would be minimal. Today, thanks to the internet, everyone has the chance to do a job they enjoy in the most efficient way and make the most out of their lives.

Are ‘Feminine’ Looks The Future Of Men’s Fashion? I asked this question to one of the most successful male models in the world at the time.

Supermodel David Gandy interview. I ask why are we seeing men on the catwalk wearing dresses? listen to what he says.

The most forceful expression of this theme came from the up-and-coming brand, JW Anderson. I was annoyed to see this at a catwalk in 2013, was overstepping the alpha male message at the time.

But it came as no surprise when I asked our hundreds of thousands of followers in 2020. About the Harry Styles Vogue shoot. Men found it missed the mark regarding what men want to wear in fashion.

As the first man to be featured on the front page of Vogue.  we found our followers, men wanted to see a man dressed in a suit not in a dress.

Harry Styles Vogue 2020 menstylefashion shoot

Define Confidence For men Versus Wearing a Dress

Confidence. If there’s one thing these new androgynous looks demand of men, it’s that. This raises the question: have the über-masculine looks dominating menswear up to now been signaling a crisis of male confidence?

Androgyny Was The New Black

Androgyny was the new black way back in 2013. Some fashion trends sneak up on you.

Others ring out loud and clear, as Spring ´14 shows. One trend sounded with all the subtlety of an air horn: androgyny is the new black.

The five-year-old label comprises collections for men and women, and designer Jonathan Anderson likes to overlap the look of the two. Last season, for instance, Anderson showed pairs of ruffled shorts for men much like the ones in his Spring ’13 womenswear collection.

J.W. Anderson - London Collections: Men 2013 - 9

And this time, Anderson’s dominant silhouette was a lean tunic paired with fluid, elongated trousers, another shape he’d begun to articulate in his previous womenswear show.

But the look that got eyebrows arching and tongues wagging was Anderson’s male halter top: backless, semi-sheer, and floral patterned, the look was unavoidably effeminate. “Atrocious,” sneered The Daily Mail.

FEMIMINE MENS FASHION IMAGE 1

JW ANDERSON´S HALTER MEN´S TOPs

Anderson is upfront about the fact that he likes testing the boundaries between men’s and women’s clothes. But he insists that he’s not setting out to create controversy; for him, the gender-bending emerges organically, out of formal risk-taking.

“In a way, it’s funny that people had such a strong reaction to that look,” Anderson states. “I mean, that top started as a long raglan mac. And then we cut the sleeves off, and then we made it short. When you’re in the studio,” he goes on, “that kind of experimentation feels normal. In fact, it’s the point. You’re playing with a piece of fabric, trying to create a new line, a new proportion. But then you present that to the world, on a runway, and it becomes this ‘thing.’”

A Pattern Forming

If Jonathan Anderson was an outlier, one mad designer whipping up androgynous looks out of a surfeit of aesthetic zeal, that would be interesting. But what’s more interesting is the fact that Anderson is not alone. Another London up-and-comer, Shaun Sampson, showed pale pink organza board shorts and ‘skirts’ made to look like beach towels.

At Alexander McQueen, creative director Sarah Burton opened the show with a fitted suit of white lace.

The Topman show featured fanciful cowboys and embroidered florals. At a certain point, it started to feel unfair, or arbitrary, to think of those looks as ‘feminine’. I found myself wondering: who decided that men couldn’t wear lace? Or skirts, for that matter? Back in ancient Greece, guys were wearing togas, right? So when did all this vigilance around masculinity happen, exactly?

Fashion Designers Views on Men Wearing A Dress

The reasons why fashion designers like to push the dress button for men wearing a skirt.

“I feel like we’ve been in a really conservative moment,” notes Martine Rose, another London-based menswear designer who tests gender conventions with her clothes.

“It’s so lazy, this way of thinking – that ‘real’ men wear this, but not that. I was really influenced by [funk musician] Rick James, for this collection,” she continues, “and he was so sexy, so gangster, and wearing ruffled shirts and thigh-high red boots.

He wasn’t letting his clothes define his sexuality. Or his masculinity.”

Rose’s new collection featured all manner of ‘feminine’ detail. What made it intriguing, though, was the fact that the attitude of the clothes was so incontrovertibly masculine. Rose draws a great deal of inspiration from sport, and beyond that, from the way even non-sporty guys wind up integrating athletic kit into their wardrobes.

This season, she expanded that concept into lace-frilled running shorts and blouson trousers with the indolent slouch of tracksuit bottoms.

Crisis Of Confidence

“Footballers back in the seventies, they used to wear those little shorts,”.

“No one was questioning their manliness; other guys wanted to look like them, in fact. And they were sexy, those footballers. They had the confidence to show their bodies, and to be playful.”

1970 football shorts for men

When The Atlantic magazine publishes cover stories that trumpet ´The End Of Men´, it’s tempting to read the advent of Don Draper, style icon, as channeling nostalgia for an era when men were the breadwinners. Likewise, the rise of earthy looks – lumberjack hipsters, and all that – could be symptomatic of revanchist idolatry of the ‘manly’ man, who would never, ever change a diaper.

TOPMAN GOES ROMANTIC AND FEMIMINE

But you could just as easily argue that Mad Men fetishists in the US are really just sentimental for the days when America was coming up in the world. And all those guys in their Woolrich parkas and plaid flannel, well, maybe their dreams are of working with the hard, physical matter of the world, rather than the e-stuff and iThings of our virtual age.

Fine And Dandy

The point is, clothes can be complicated. They can tell a few stories, all at once. And so it’s entirely probable that there’s more to this gender-blurring fashion moment than gender.

Dandyism, wrote the 19th Century poet and essayist Charles Baudelaire, emerges in times of transition. And at such moments, he asserted, “a certain number of men, disenchanted and leisured ‘outsiders’…may conceive the idea of establishing a new kind of aristocracy.”

What Baudelaire is talking about, of course, is taste. And when Jonathan Anderson explains that his controversial halter tops were the product of his desire to create “a new line,” he’s talking about taste, too.

So is Charlie Casely-Hayford, co-founder of the luxury menswear brand Casely-Hayford, when he says that feminine elements give his brand’s natty suits a sense of “refinement.”

This is also reinforced, by the daily style doses afforded by David ¨Dandy¨ Gandy.

David Gandy Maria Scard Photography MenStyleFashion 2014

Designer Charlie Casely-Hayford

You could argue that what we’re seeing on menswear runways right now is the establishment of Baudelaire’s aristocracy of taste. The folks in the front row were perfectly blasé about the halter tops at JW Anderson’s show. Their focus was on the way Anderson finessed the look, and his conviction in selling it.

There’s a kind of ivory tower thinking at work in this, no doubt about it. But I’m willing to bet that, given some time, the public will come around to some version of this new unisex aesthetic. It’s happened before: as Martine Rose pointed out, there was a fey moment back in the seventies. And the feminine influence is already apparent in a handful of brands, like Casely-Hayford, that traffic in relatively conventional men’s clothes.

And Charlie Casely-Hayford agrees that, in time, his customer will fully come round.

We want to challenge our customer, but we don’t want to freak him out,” he says. “So every season, I’m asking myself – can we do a skirt? Will he understand? We’re almost there,” he adds. “But, you know, not quite yet.

How Divorce Can Impact your Health

No happy marriage ends in separation or divorce. Whether you choose to work through your marital challenges or have already concluded that your marriage is beyond saving, you must always remember that divorce comes with both emotional and physical impacts. An experienced lawyer can help you handle the legal aspects of divorce, such as alimony, parental custody of your child, and more. However, you will need to deal with the physical and emotional effects of divorce on your own. These include;

Divorce

Increased Anxiety

It doesn’t matter what led to your divorce. You will definitely experience higher anxiety during a divorce. According to Mayo Clinic, a significant life event might make someone anxious, and divorce isn’t an exception. Even if you have the best lawyer and highly supportive friends and relatives, you should see your doctor whenever anxiety starts interfering with your life before it starts causing physical health issues or psychological challenges.

The risk of Depression

A study published in the Clinical Psychological Science Journal in 2013 confirmed what might sound obvious to most people – anyone going divorce is at a higher risk of depression. However, not everyone experiences a spike in the risk of depression during or after divorce. It mainly affects people who have battled with higher levels of anxiety and depression in the past.

During the 2013 study, researchers found that 60% of people who have dealt with depression before and had a divorce, suffered from depressive episodes. Compare this with 10% of people without a history of depression who suffered this condition after divorce. Therefore, divorce is likely to spike anxiety levels, and this is bad news for your physical and mental health.

Insomnia and a higher risk of blood pressure

Often, people lose appetite and stop sleeping during and immediately after divorce. What’s more, according to a 2014 study, there is a link between inadequate sleep and the risk of high blood pressure. The research findings revealed that people who had difficulties sleeping for over ten weeks following their divorce saw a negative impact on their resting blood pressure. Keep in mind that the longer you have sleeping troubles, the more likely you are to have high blood pressure problems.

Most women end up losing health insurance

While the numbers may have changed since Obamacare took effect, a study done in 2012 showed that over 115,000 women in the United States lost their health insurance every year due to divorce. This is because they solely depended on their spouse’s policies, and after divorce, such people end up uninsured for a long time.

Wrap Up

All the issues discussed sound scary, but there is a good chance you will eventually feel better if you learn how to cope with divorce. According to experts, you are likely to feel better, both physically and mentally, by the time you hit the 2-year mark after your divorce. To minimize the impacts of divorce, try as much as you can to keep to your routine and lifestyle after divorce.

Do you ever get a sneaking suspicion that your partner may be unfaithful to you? Is it just a passing thought that all of us have or are there actual signs that you’ve been noticing lately? It may surprise you that there is documented research that can actually back up the infidelity that you may suspect. One study has estimated that more than 25% of married men and 20% of married women engage in extramarital sex over the course of their relationships…and this study was only looking at married couples. If you have an inkling that something is up, here are five signs to watch for that may mean your partner is cheating on you.

Go With Your Gut Instinct

1 – Has your level of physical closeness changed?

Often times, this is the first hint that something might be wrong – perhaps your partner is wanting to spend less time with you being intimate…or maybe they want more sex now. Either change could indicate that their needs are being met somewhere else, whether it’s only emotional closeness or a physical intimacy. Be sure to watch for subtle changes in body language as well. Sometimes our physical stance and movement can indicate our unspoken thoughts or wishes.

2 – Has your partner changed his or her appearance in any way?

This is also a huge red flag that something has changed in a relationship. Is he or she taking more showers now? Spending more money on new clothes or grooming? Going to the gym regularly where before he or she was happy being a couch potato with you? Changes in appearance are always something that should catch your attention, even if it’s something subtle such as more frequent manicures or more interest in working out. If your partner is trying to improve their appearance, make sure that it’s for you and not for someone else.

3 – Has there been an increase in cash withdrawals lately?

Another clue that your spouse may be cheating on you is an increase in the amount of cash that is being taken out of the ATM, especially if he or she is going to lesser-known locations than his or her normal routine. It’s much easier to cheat using cash since there aren’t any paper trails, so be watchful if you notice this happening. It’s always a good idea to follow the money, especially if you have combined accounts already.

4 – Has your partner become more tightfisted when it comes to his or her electronics?

Our cell phones are typically our connection to social media, our look into our bank accounts, our calendars, our entertainment, and our method of communicating with everyone now. If your partner has recently become overly possessive of her cell phone – gets agitated when you touch it or refuses to give it to you if you ask to borrow it – that may be a red flag that he or she is trying to hide something. You also may want to check out his or her computer, tablet, or cell phone history in order to determine what sites they’ve been on…or if the history has been regularly cleared (another sign that your partner doesn’t want you to find something out). Deleting emails and/or emptying the trash every time may be a sign of something going on that they don’t want you to know. According to Manhattan private investigator Darrin Giglio, “The Internet and social media have made it easier than ever to cheat. Be aware of your partner’s regular usage patterns and if those change.”

5 – Have there been any recent changes in his or her schedule?

Is your partner all of a sudden needing to go out of town “on business” more than usual? Is he or she working late most nights where before they were home at a regular hour? This is another sign that your partner may be cheating on you. Most people are creatures of habit so you should know what his or her regular schedule is like. It might warrant a closer look at his or her daily calendar (or phone calendar app!) to see if there is really an uptick in the amount of work or if something else is going on. Often, business dinners, nighttime vendor meetings, and random business trips out of town are masking something else so be wary if they start cropping up.

If you have noticed some of these signs and truly suspect that your partner is cheating on you, the best avenue may be for you to consider hiring a private investigator find out the truth for you. Professional private investigators can obtain hard evidence such as photos, videos, call logs, GPS logs, and other methods of investigation for you to consider. Then, and only then, can you decide what to do about a cheating partner.

The fashion world has moved ahead from the old days of gender segregation when it comes to clothing. The line between clothing for men and women has been blurred and designers from all over the world are now designing clothes that defy the concept of gender, especially when it comes to designing menswear.

Listen to this interview I did at my first ever London Fashion Week: Men in 2013, asking David Gandy about the JW Anderson catwalk in where men were wearing skirts. What his views were about Gender Fluidity. To date I ask the question, ever seen David Gandy modelling men wearing a skirt?

For me this is all about making more money for the designers and nothing else. In a staurated market such as fashion, they will do anything to make a big buck.

Gender Fluidity 2019 - Menswear Fashion No Longer Counts

This trend in gender fluidity for menswear is focused on the modern generation that governs the trends of the future. For 2019, the fashion industry is expected to have a more unisex approach towards menswear. With famous models from all over the world rocking what traditionally would be feminine looking clothes, the poles have started to shift towards a mixed dressing approach for men and women alike.

Gender Fluidity 2019 - Menswear Fashion No Longer Counts

Different celebrities and famous fashion bloggers have tipped unisex clothing to be a leading trend in the coming year. The entire fashion industry these days is influenced by bloggers and designers. These influencers interact with their audience more and get a better understanding of what people like and dislike in the world of fashion. They are often headhunted by famous brands to make certain statements in the fashion scene. Are you a fashion blogger? Then you, too, can monetize your blog and earn money by inspiring change in fashion worldwide.

Unisex Clothing is The New World Order

The demand for unisex clothing has come from the generation Z – the generation that comes after millennials. Not so long ago, in the summer of 2017, few teenage boys from Exeter,

UK made global news after they wore borrowed skirts to school to deal with the hot weather. From this example, it can be clearly observed that the younger generation is comfortable adopting feminine clothing for comfort. Following are more examples that make the entire gender-fluidity trend, especially the one in men’s fashion, to gather momentum and grow:

  • The LV ‘s spring-summer 2016 campaign had Jaden Smith wear a skirt and other feminine-looking clothing. The creative director of Loius Vuitton later commented that wearing a skirt came naturally to Jaden Smith – comparing it with women in the 1960s who granted themselves permission to wear a man’s suit or tuxedo.

  • The museum of fine arts in Boston is said to host an exhibition named Gender Bending. This is to be hosted in March of 2019 and it will show designs by Rad Hourani-the designer who dropped the first unisex collection in 2013.
  • The Vogue fashion fund in 2017 was won by Telfar. This Liberian-American designer has been known for his very own gender-neutral brand.

Gender Fluidity 2019 - Menswear Fashion No Longer Counts

  • A new brand Matchfashion.com collaborated with Burberry for their 2018 unisex summer collection.
  • De Saint Sernin, appeared in shows during Paris Fashion Week Men’s, but their entire collection is sold in showrooms for women.

Ludovic De Saint Sernin

Gender Fluidity 2019 - Menswear Fashion No Longer Counts

  • Gucci, a brand that has advocated gender fluidity, had female models wear articles from men collection.
  • In 2016, Selfridges introduced a new kind of shopping space named as Agender. The idea behind this space was to free customer from the regular men and women sections.

Gucci Cruise 2018 Menswear Collection

Moreover, David Beckham wearing a sarong certifies that clothing trends in modern times have moved way beyond the regular segregation of men and women. This is not only applicable to the fashion industry but also on society as a whole.

Gender Fluidity in Fashion Pays Off

The question that arises now is whether the brands that adapted gender fluid clothing are selling more after doing so. The answer to this one seems to be yes. In the last quarter, Gucci remained as the hottest fashion brand and some accredit this to their gender fluid clothing lines.

It is believed that Generation Z drives the majority of the sales of such brands. Since theirs is the generation that has been brought up in a world where gender is not considered to be a taboo or set in stone, they are more open to the idea of gender-neutral clothes.

Gucci

With the western world being more open to a change in gender roles in society in general, the fashion industry in the East is also picking up with the trends. India, for example, has seen a wave in unisex clothing brands. Some of the similar trends in fashion have been adopted by many designers in some of the more conservative countries.

It will be interesting to see how designers in the men’s fashion shows coming in the next few months will influence change in the minds of people and eventually drive more men to adopt more gender fluid clothes.

The fashion industry is rapidly growing. With the help of the internet, business owners are able to become more efficient in their industry. Which is why it’s not surprising if you are also thinking about investing on a clothing business.

However, are you certain that a clothing line is great for you? This article will help you answer this question.

Why Start A Clothing Line

You might be thinking for a while now if a clothing line is the best type of business for you. If there’s still a bunch of factors that are holding you back with your decisions, here are some points that you should consider.

  • You Are Someone Who Is Stylish And Loves Being An Influencer.

When you are a stylish person, people often notice how good you dress. This makes them ask for advices and questions on how they can be stylish like you. If you feel and know that you are someone who is stylish, then it can be a sign that a clothing business is something that you should consider. You can use your skills in fashion to help other people. Plus, if people really think that you are fashionable, they would be more encouraged to buy your items.

  • You Are A Very Creative Person

Being creative is a must if you want to be in the fashion industry. You might be able to hire designers for your clothing line and that is perfectly fine. But you still have to have creative skills in order to evaluate the designs that your designers will present to you.

  • You’re A Hard Working Person

Getting into the fashion business requires a lot of hard work. There are a lot of things to do since you also need to have a good business plan, marketing campaign, and a manufacturer for the production process. You can also hire a team that will help you with these tasks but as a business owner, you need to be hands-on in your business.

  • You’re Ready To Compete To Win

Before you even get into the fashion business, you need to know that there are a lot of competitors in the market. You need to think of a way to be unique and make customers notice you in spite of the huge competition. If you are someone who finds this challenge exciting, then it’s a sign that fashion business is one of the options that you should consider.

Why Do It Online

There are a bunch of reasons why you should take your clothing business online. It’s a great venue to start your business because it allows you to avoid the stress of finding a physical store. Unlike a traditional clothing store, all you need to have is a website and a good marketing strategy for your website to get noticed. Since people are always online, it’s also easier to reach out to them online. Wherever they are in the world, they would be able to shop clothes from your store, and that is really convenient.

Cutting the costs is also possible when your business operates online. You don’t have to worry about utility bills, transportation costs, and building rentals.

If you want to operate your business 24/7 it can be costly and almost impossible to do since people don’t really go out of their homes in the middle of the night just to buy clothes. That would be dangerous as well, especially for women. But if your clothing business operates online, then giving your clients a 24/7 store is possible without them having to go out. You can operate the business from your home. And your clients can shop their favorite clothes from the comfort of their homes as well. Having an online business is not only convenient for you but also for your customers.

Apps To Use For Your Business

Aside from convenient websites that you can use for your business, there are also apps that fashion business owners. You can take a look at them and install them in your smartphone.

  • Pinterest

Pinterest is a popular app for people who are looking for interesting things and designers or those who are in the fashion industry can use it as a mood-board. There are a bunch of images and posts that you can use as an inspiration for your next item.

Slack

Another app that would be very useful for your business is Slack. It’s a platform where you can communicate with your team. You can either send a private message or even create customized group chats for when you need to announce something to your team.

Communicating with your team members is an important ingredient if you want to succeed in the fashion industry. That is why you might need a reliable platform like Slack for your business.

  • Pantone Color Finder

After getting ideas for your next collection of products from Pinterest or Instagram, the next step is to get the right color for your items. Pantone Color Finder is a simple browser extension that can help you find the color that you need. What makes it even more amazing is that you can use it on your iPhone or Android smartphone as well.

Generally, women are known to be very keen and particular about how they look and how they take care of themselves. For them, staying well-groomed is not only part of their beauty but also from a hygiene perspective. However, it is the opposite for men. Boys are generally considered to be the messier of the two genders, for many men, it is cool to be messy. There is the man who does not shave for weeks and does not get their hair trimmed for months.

The breaking news is, dirty is no more the cool thing to do for men anymore. In the current era, men are expected to follow similar grooming standards as women. Women today are quickly turned off by men who do not look well kept, have an unkempt attire and look and smell bad. Unfortunately, most men are either too busy or too lazy to make regular trips to a stylist or a salon to stay well-groomed.

However, it is a myth that you need to be dependent on a professional for your grooming needs. A basic grooming routine can be quickly followed at home, and you can feel fresh, crisp and presentable – which is all that you need.

The Right Kind of Shave

When you choose not to go under the blade for weeks and let your shave grow without taming it, you look more like a drug addict and less like a cool hunk. Just like it is important to groom your lawn and trim the grass to make it look presentable and neat, it is important to cut your facial hair and shape them to make them look neat and presentable.

At the same time, this does not mean that you shave to the point of almost peeling off a layer of your skin. Invest in a good razor and figure out how you can attain a precise shave without using too much blade. An automated shaver is an excellent way to strike a balance. Make sure to use a superb aftershave to help keep your skin clean, fresh and free of infection.

Smell Good

Smelling nice is a crucial part of your physical grooming. Since most men tend to spend a physically active routine, they generally sweat much more and therefore feel pretty bad, which puts off people around them. The most basic step of killing body odour is to use a good deodorant. And use it at regular intervals on a daily basis. It is also important that you understand that your regular perfume is not your deodorant. Scents are meant to add fragrance to your clothing to enhance the way you smell.
However, if your body is sweating and breathing, using the perfume will make the situation worse as the fragrance will mix with your body odor. On the other hand, a deodorant is essentially an antiperspirant that aims at killing body odours that are triggered due to sweat.

Trimmed Nails

You might not feel so, but people do notice if your nails are big, unshaped and worse if they have dirt-filled inside. Make sure that you trim and file your nails on a weekly basis and keep them in shape so that they do not look dirty.

Photoshop Altered Models – Do We Need Warnings Signs?

Magazine advertisements for alcohol and cigarettes come with warning labels. Now, some groups suggest that the celebrity and fashion photos should, too. A number of researchers and government regulators want photographs of movie stars and models to come with warnings that say the photos have been extensively altered with retouching software, such as Adobe Photoshop. The idea stems from scientific research that found that vulnerable consumers, particularly children and teens, might be fooled by the photos’ convincing illusions of perfection and suffer negative physical and mental health consequences as a result.

“Children and teens are particularly vulnerable to ‘perfect’ models of adults and children their age in the media,” Carolyn Landis.

So far, the most notable calls for Photoshop warning labels have come from Europe. Legislators in France, Britain and Norway have supported government efforts to slap warning labels on photos to alert consumers when they have been digitally altered.

How to Protect the Public

But in June, an American medical association denounced the doctoring of photographs, urging advertisers to work with child and teen health experts to set limits on Photo shopping. Two Dartmouth researchers have come up with a novel solution — a software tool that would detect how much fashion and beauty photographs have been altered, assigning them a rating from one (minimally altered) to five (starkly changed).

Photoshop enhanced Model

In general, contact with fashion and beauty magazines regarding their policies on retouching photographs or their thoughts on photo warning labels are not well received.

Research indicates that there is cause for worry about how celebrities and models, who appear forever trim and blemish-free, may affect how people view their own bodies. Several studies have linked manipulated photographs to eating disorders and other health problems. But psychologists say the most effective solution to helping children and vulnerable people develop healthy and realistic body images comes not from warning labels and photo-rating systems but from active communications and awareness.

Janis Rosenberg, a clinical psychologist said parents could start by not focusing too much attention on a child’s looks or appearance.

“Children are normally not aware of physical traits until their attention is brought to it,” Rosenberg said. “People who draw too much attention to beauty, comparing their children’s physical attributes and causing a child to be overly aware of physical traits can be a great source of anxiety for a child or even, in some cases, a vulnerable adult or teenage model.”

Photoshop enhanced model
Parents may be able to spot a few warning signs if their child is becoming overly fixated on looks. Kids may start making negative comments about their appearance, compare themselves unfavourably to others or begin restricting what they eat to avoid ´getting fat.´

While parents should certainly encourage children to eat a healthy diet, avoid oversize portions and exercise regularly, Landis said they can also restrict their comments about physical appearance in the light of what is healthy, not what looks attractive or desirable.

Faux fur is back in a big way from simple embellishment to full length Harpo Marx replicas that are now completely gender neutral and should help you feel confident wearing it but sadly won’t help with your piano playing unless you are already suitably gifted or perhaps a trainee starlet in waiting.

Let’s remember ‘real’ fur as such originated and evolved from a huntsman method of keeping warm to a luxurious yet controversial symbol of luxury for those that could afford it post world war two. As the demand waxed and waned fashion houses sensibly discovered that faux fur could be fun for all concerned especially if you are bold enough a guy to want to give off the rap star vibe.

Being a Minx

As Milan catwalks showed this season and other fashion weeks joined in the trend the popularity of faux fur continues unabated with trends percolating down to high street fashion chains. Once Joe or Josephine public got a handle on the fact that no animals are harmed, the moral and ethical implications of wear ability have vanished and confidence in the style have come to the fore that making affordability not so much of an issue.

This seasons faux fur is best in full length, full fat glamour style, which although initially intimidating, can and has been investigated by the houses of Milan to a great deal of accord from the press and knowing public alike seeing more than a passing trend and encouraging gentlemen with confidence and not necessarily bulging designer wallets to take the plunge on the streets of the world’s leading cities.

Leading By Design

Houses such as Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana and Dior Homme all exhibited full faux furs that are credible. Homage in many areas of design has been paid to the more historical aspects of fur wearing amongst men, with more than a passing nod to the current media frenzy caused by the ever popular ‘Game Of Thrones’; Dolce & Gabbana going all other world kingdoms on our asses with crowns, faux fur sweaters and full length furs over gothic style prints.

For the more traditional ‘Ice Station Zebra’ look, faux fur paneled khaki and jacket hoods had been reworked by Dior Homme to give a fresh approach to this ever popular classic, giving a more luxurious rather than utilitarian feel to the garments that dressed down other tailored items with starlet Astrid Anderssen leading the pack with a visually stunning yellow parka with blue grey fake fur hood. Whatever the take, the exciting world of faux fur can raise its head as a respected new kid of the fashion world. Long may it continue.

Why in the last two years has MenStyleFashion not attended a menswear fashion week around the globe? Should we with over 900,000 followers across all our social media dedicated for menswear, and recently ranked as the third-best Mens Fashion blogs from thousands of top Mens Fashion blogs in the world.

Why did this image go viral? Why did it get over 7 million views, 750,000 comments and 18,000 shares?

Why Are We Not At Catwalks?

Over the last few months I have tried to find out what the most engaging post are for MenStyleFashion’s social media. And, it all comes down to the following. With over 155,000 people reached in less than 24 hours of Facebook, MenStyleFashion’s  followers are truly commanding how disconnected fashion weeks have become as seen by the comments. I am known as the female voice for menswear since 2011, therefore it is important I continue to understand what my followers are seeking regarding men’s fashion.

For me catwalks are not only the true back bone of where menswear fashion trends are heading and what my followers want to buy into.

On this occasion and on many occasions, my followers are hating what they are seeing on the runway shows for men in 2017. Why is it that the designers are looking after the shock effect more apposed to what men are wanting to buy into?

Your Fashion Opinion Please?

Yesterday late afternoon, I placed the following image on our Facebook. It’s important to understand that MenStyleFashion is a platform in where anyone, any fashion brand can promote, highlight and share their fashion opinion. All we simply do is ask the same question day in and day out. Your #fashion opinion please? #WeShowYouHow

So why has this image below attracted over 2000 negative comments and 257 shares, towards the designer’s way of showcasing his collection on the catwalk for 2017?  I encourage anyone to take the time to read people’s reaction.

Catwalks - How Disconnected Are They For Menswear?

My passion since 2011, is to encourage any man, of any age to dress well and creatively. It is clear on this occasion, that this catwalk clearly demonstrates, the disconnection towards fashion weeks and what men and women are wanting to buy into regarding their personal style.

What makes a man a man? Is it their beard? Is it their genitals or is it their libido? What distinguishes between a man and a woman? Well, harmonically speaking the Testosterone hormone is what differentiates a man from a woman.  These hormones are responsible for many apart from reproduction like building muscles, keeping the fat away, increasing libido, etc but if these hormones go ashtray then it is a slippery slope ahead that will pose serious repercussions even leading to male infertility. So how can one boost the testosterone, the alpha male hormone naturally? Let’s try these do it yourself hacks that will regulate your hormone profile and help you live a normal life:

  • Strength exercise over cardio: Have a strong core and uplift those dumbles rather than running on a treadmill. Strength workout will help to boost the testosterone level by working on the muscles and lifting weights.
  • Regulate your sleep: Don’t be a night owl and sleep at a fixed time daily. Sleeping at the same time every day will help you relax the mind and helps the body to heal itself naturally. So rather than sleeping late and hitting the snooze button set a time and have a sound sleep of 7-8hours.
  • Ditch the stress: Stress is a silent killer that will take your life away every day making your intellect dull and making your hormones go on strike. Constant mental chewing does nothing constructive rather it makes the person negative and under-confident. Hence, take some time off from your busy schedule and meditate to keep the stress under control.
  • Stop Smoking and Pot now: Smoking is the worst thing you can do to imbalance your hormones. Apart from destroying your lungs and kidneys; smoking has effects the hormone profile as well as reducing the count which can lead to infertility.
  • Have a Nut Case: Nuts like almonds, groundnut, peanut, etc. will help to boost the testosterone level and reduce the side effects of diminished hormone level. These nuts are enriched with good fat and help to build muscle. Peanut butter is also good but make sure it is made of peanut and not full of sugar and bad fat.
  • Be Break free in the bedroom: If lately, you have been feeling that your sex life has become a routine and has lost its spunk then it’s time to stir things. Best way to boost the testosterone level is to have a healthy and passionate time with your partner. It will not only bring the couple closer, it is a natural stress buster and helps to increase the testosterone level.

To conclude, if you are suffering from low sperm count or your testosterone levels are low then these are some of the basic therapies that will help you shake things up and get back to normal. So fret not and pave your way towards a healthy living.
